FIle list

Post by Mark » Sun Dec 24, 2006 2:47 am

On the file list I only see about 20 of your posts total. Looks like trouble there too. I thought you made more posts than that.

Deleted thread

Post by Mike Everman » Sun Dec 24, 2006 2:50 am

Oh, man, Forrest, I am sad to say that I am not 100% certain that it was not me. I am deleting spam posts so many times right next to it, I've been very nervous and check and re-check. I'll see if there is any way to resurrect it. If it was me, I'm so sorry, but I do not remember doing it, which is maybe more distressing...

That's fine, I think. Forrest does not upload the actual pics as a rule, but links to another host.

Lol sounds like your having a very merry christmas indeed, especially if you don't remember stuff, can only mean good things. Just wondering incase if someone ever manages to do some serious damage, if you can save it all now to a dvd or something, just in case. I don't know if you can, but might be a good idea to try.

Best wishes and Merry xmas...

That's a good one... but I meant that if it wasn't me or Tom, it's distressing whom it might be-

Merry Christmas to all, and I'm so sorry about the loss of this thread, Forrest. It was a good one!

Crap...
Forrest, I am oh so sorry, It happened to be sitting next to a spam topic late last night, I just clicked the back button a few times this morning, saw I'd managed to accidentally check your threads tick box.

How embarrassing....

Now, I am not a malicious person unless someone wrongs me first, So I only hope that you can accept my most sincere apollogies Forrest, It was a nice thread.

Mike, do we have a recent back up, so that at least some of the content might still be about?

I'm still checking to see if we can resurrect it. If we restore the last backup, we'd lose a week of all posts, so that's not an option.

There's no way to open up a backup file and extract parts?

I'm no expert in phpbb, yet it seems logical that all a backup should comprise of is a compressed set of data readable by the phpbb software... If worst comes to worst, we could create a temporary installation on a sub-domain of the site? Extract it to that, take what we need and then get rid of the sub?

Complicated, I know, yet once again, I apollogise to Forrest and the other contributors to that thread.

Look twice, Delete once. New Motto.

Merry Christmas by the way.
