Paul, I had a similar idea. I searched the net for pics of older motorbikes (circa 1920) for frame ideas. They seemed much more suited to home building than modern bikes, or even bikes from around WWII. You should be able to find all the motors and semi-conductors you need on E-Bay. I think an electric motorbike would be perfect for somebody who lives in a high-density urban environment and does not need long-range or high-speed capability. Out here in the bush you really need a gas or diesel engine though because everything is like 20 km apart and those plug-ins for block heaters you find all over the big cities are non-existent here. At least parking is free!
