They cannot fly fast enough

Post by Bruno Ogorelec » Fri Nov 21, 2003 3:02 pm

In a very recent report on activities in Itaq, the US Army expressed disappointment with the performance on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) that received rave reviews during the war in Afghanistan.

They "simply cannot fly fast enough," and as a result "the daily mortar and rocket attacks on bases and convoys became virtually undetectable to the UAVs," the report acknowledged.

Bruce, hurry up this cruise missile of yours. The market for _fast_ UAVs has just grown a notch.

I think it was in Jane's that I saw that there is a pulsejet that an Israeli company makes for drone applications.
