Workshop machinery
So, a few years back, I managed to find myself a lathe. Schaublin 102 precision toolmaker's lathe, sold as "not working" and with a lever actuated cross slide. Was actually working fine, but required a 220V three phase supply, was also supplied with a whole bunch of other stuff, milling machine divi...

Re: My first pulse jet!!!
Not sure about amazon slip rolls, or what they cost. I don't trust cheap shit bought across the 'net, though. I made my own rolls, from scrap, cost next to nothing. Here's an idea - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7eNLv6BR4Y As far as thickness goes, it's easier to bend thinner material, but it wil...

Re: My first pulse jet!!!
As far as a new jet to build, scaling is a bit risky (although scaling *up* is usually more forgiving). A Lockwood is a fairly forgiving design, and produces useful thrust, for something smaller there's the various FWE engines from Larry. There's loads of plans in the pinned topic at the top of this...

Re: hey hey happy new year
Just bought myself a minimum viable TIG machine at a knockdown price, need to find myself some argon at a price that doesn't require selling a kidney and then I'm planning on making up Larry's last published design (Lady Anne R09). I'd have done it with gas, but I don't have access to oxy-acet' any ...

hey hey happy new year
Hi all. Been a while since I've been around, hope everyone is staying safe and well in these difficult times.
A happy and prosperous new year to you all, keep making obnoxiously noisy gas burners.
Simon
