Re: Great Australian Wildfire (You OK, James?)
Dear Larry, Thanks for your concern good buddy, Rossco and I thankfully live in Queensland, many km north of that area. We still aren't sure of the final toll, lest 3 towns are completely gone, several more are only semi burnt to the ground (whatever that means) and theres 180 odd dead and is expect...

You mean they work for Singapore Air? (They are pilots, yes) Are you nit picking? :P Yes mate JB weld is ideal, exactly what you need. A vacuum cleaner...hmm will be worth a try I suppose, its been years since I used mine in reverse, but I wouldn't expect much, it might have just enough to lock the ...

Re: Few Quick Questions...
Fterh, Hey Ft, for your air supply "in the field" consider a petrol powered leaf blow from ebay, you can find some nice little bargains on their. Alternatively, I have a friend working on gearing a lawn mower or chain saw engine to one of the ducted fans on harbour freight, not a bad idea, he geared...

Re: FWE with increased Throttle Range?
Much of the chemical and thermal reactions, thermal transfers, changes in density and specific ignition points go unobserved. CFD may be useful, if the previous mentioned parameters are accounted for in the context of minute fractions of a second. No CFD for me, I'll stick with the steel models. I'...

Re: FWE with increased Throttle Range?
Hello Pyrojoe, Just curious, can you substantiate your drawings by way of CFD, high speed photography or by empirical means? Simply curious because your drawings (and what you've written) fail to make much sense to me, perhaps you could explain your process here (and in earlier drawings) in an effor...

Re: Great photos of strange planes
Hey Larry. I've never seen any footage of it flying, will have to keep looking. (F-82), very interesting though. The top photo I have no idea if it was even a real idea at any point, perhaps just someone's creative design... however considering the advantages of launching the 163's in flight, its fe...

Re: Back with the BIG LADY
Hey wakmat, electronic scales are bad, almost all electronic load cells are, with the exception of a few very expensive ones. Problem is their sample rate is very low, maybe 3 or 4 samples per second, giving you a completely fudged reading. For instance on two seperate load cells i've used I rarely ...

Re: Back with the BIG LADY
Rarely does something beat the simplicity and cost effectiveness of a spring scale. I have one with a little slider that holds the position of the last recorded weight, just watch you don't melt them. EBAY!

Re: PULSE 3
If I recall ( and don't quote me cause I could be wrong )it didn't end up self sustaining, however , try the addition of a small amount of straight tube on the tailpipe, adjusting its length... it might bring it in. Monolo made this one I think and he's here on the forum, try to get in touch with hi...
