Ejectors and Augmentors
Perhaps an ejector is inside the duct and an augmentor is outside the duct. A Lempnor ejector on a steam locomotive is inside the smokestack and serves to increase draft through the firebox. A pulsejet augmentor is outside of the duct and serves to increase draft behind the jet.

Gas Turbine Technology
I read a book called "Gas Turbine Technology" once that I got at the public library. Although it was way over my head mathematically, it still provided a lot of insight into the design and construction of internal combustion turbines. I'm pretty sure the big engineering firms have turbine technology...

XXX And The Autumn Of Originality
Didn't mean to ruffle feathers. A pulsejet would be good to ruffle feathers, by the way. It alternately blows in two directions. Ideal. If it is too "easy" to imagine, it may have already been tried. That goes for anyone who thinks they have arrived there first. Remember, many lovely shapes have be...

MOAB
Ten tons of fertilizer and aluminum powder burning at once - I like it. I want one. Do you suppose it detonates or does it perform a gigantic deflagration? By the way... Larry where are you? We haven't seen your handle on here for a couple of weeks now. Have you tested Maggie Muggs yet?

Dr. Gerald Bull
It was more than money that drove him into Saddam's arms, it was lust for revenge. The Americans cancelled one of his projects just as he was on the verge of a breakthrough I think. With no funding available in North America, he sold some ideas to the South Africans, which ran him afoul of US arms e...

Hydroforming
It looks like 8000 and 10000 psi gave the best results. The 11,400 psi one looks as though it might have bulged slightly from overpressure and the 5000 psi was obviously underpressured as the steel looks all wrinkled and 'slack'. I don't think a hand-pumped machine would be all that dangerous becaus...

Hydroforming
I too was intrigued by hydroforming, especially pulsejets. I read that it takes quite a lot of pressure (1000 psi) to fabricate stuff that way, but that it wasn't so much that you couldn't hand pump it, given a long enough lever. Perhaps a two-ton jack, an old hydraulic cylinder, a high-pressure che...

That Big Kazoo
Not to belittle your work Mike, but that first pic you posted in this thread (tube1.jpg) looks just like a big kazoo. If you built a kazoo jet with a noise-making reed and everything, I would idolize you. If you made six of them and tuned them so they sounded like an intergalactic freight train horn...

Re: Chrome
As I have mentioned in other posts here I am in the market for hand operated (crank) sheet metal beading and rolling tools. I am located in the southern US. Gulfrose@Juno.com E-Bay!!! There are all sorts of shears, slip rolls, brakes, benders and 3-in-1 machines on E-Bay, and they are generally wel...

Your Machines
Those machines you build sound fantastic. The accuracies you obtain are amazing. Can you use them to machine steel to such close tolerances? Will you be using them to build your pulsejet?

Axial vs. Radial Compressors
It seems axial compressors are easier to manufacture and maintain, as their impellers are constructed of individual milled blades that are mounted on solid metal discs, which are then keyed to a shaft. Radial compressors often have oddly-shaped impellers cast as single pieces of metal, so that if on...

Life Is Fractal
I believe that life is cyclic, but not like a 4-stroke motor where every cycle is more or less identical to the last. Populations increase, decrease, assimilate and migrate. Cultures are born, they mature, they become overly comlicated and then they fade away. There is no one culture on this earth t...

Wow!
I don't know if your idea will work or not but that rendering (rendition?) looks fantastic!!! What did you use to do it? Most of the voices in this choir will tell you that aerodynamic valves are too leaky and inefficient to use on pulsejets and would serve only to impede airflow in both directions,...

Starting Your Pulsejet
I think you need some kind of flame or spark to start it. It won't start just from heating up the tube, although that would help vapourize your gasoline and make it easier to start with a spark or match.
