Re: Jet powered Lamborghini

I am thinking about hitting the afterburner during the startup when flames are coming through the turbine wheel, then there might form a stable flame zone in the afterburner. We need to be able to start it even with the engine running, but it would be an easy way of igniting it without having to bui...

Jet powered Lamborghini

We had a bit of fun yesterday helping a fellow racer with his car, we will have to build a better afterburner ignition and fuel control later but at least the engine runs fine. http://mobackenracing.se/wp-content/upload/Bosse-p%C3%A5-bes%C3%B6k-2.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46SoM-2QzYQ It is ...

Re: Steam rocket project

Thanks! The kick in the video link is not make by us, they really don´t know what they are playing with. It looks like an aluminum N2O bottle and that is so stupid that I cannot find words for it... After some summer tests we found that the side of the steel bottle was bulging out and could ...

Re: Rainy Day Project: Lady Anne Rev 09

I haven't been able to get video capture to work for a long time now. I could throw together some footage of the big heater running, but it wouldn't look like much -- just daylight stuff where you can't really see anything that impressive happening. If this little Lady Anne is a good runner, I'll g...

Re: Just a video of me being awesome :)

I agree with Keith that throttle control is the no.1 thing to keep in mind, I´ve done almost every newbie error they talked about but over the years I have found ways to get around them. The nearest buddy with a bike lives 900km away so I haven´t exactly had anyone to ask about this exactly so it ha...

Re: Just a video of me being awesome :)

If you haven't seen it yet, download "Keith Code - Twist of the wrist 2" Fucking awesome info for track days. Good idea, I will *cough cough* buy the dvd right away. :D You can clearly see on the pics that I don´t hang enough with my body, but considering my Goretex clothing, Pilot Road 2CT touring...

Re: Just a video of me being awesome :)

Track days are great fun, a month ago I went to one with my busa and before the day was over I chased R6´s around the bends and smoked them on the straight.

Re: I tried to cast aluminum last week

Be careful At 680°F Teflon pans release at least six toxic gases, including two carcinogens, two global pollutants, and MFA, a chemical lethal to humans at low doses. At temperatures that DuPont scientists claim are reached on stovetop drip pans (1000°F), non-stick coatings break down to a chemical...

Re: I tried to cast aluminum last week

Yup, a pie shape indeed. It will never be its old self again... Besides the things you´ve pointed out I should have guessed that the teflon coating in the pie shape would burn and cause cavities, but it was only a primary test and did indeed inspire us to make a more serious attempt later ...

I tried to cast aluminum last week

I did an attempt to cast an aluminum block for my soon-to-be TV94 gas turbine, it was great fun even though the cast part came out less than perfect. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxDDQwhhoU4 http://mobackenracing.se/wp-content/upload/Gjutning-3.jpg http://mobackenracing.se/wp-content/upload/Gjutni...

Re: Picked up a pair of Schwitzer S500:s today.

Here are the pics I promised, unfortunately I haven´t got a good pic from the side of the combustor but it doesen´t show anything of interest since a couple of hot starts has erased any heat pattern. DSC05462.JPG DSC05469.JPG The burned hole in the lid is most likely a product of burning fuel on the...
