Here's a scheme from early in 2002 for setting up two Dynajets in an E-P [Esnault-Peltier] configuration, to try to get the two engines to synchronise and blend in to a single stream, using a quasi-fancy augmentor. Bruno pointed out that this wouldn't work with unmodified engines, because for an E-...

Re: How about a Folded Schubert [or maybe, Schubertian Reyns
I got to thinking that we could take the Schubert 'long snout' and distribute it around the chamber. By making a big flare at the front end of the tailpipe, we can get the high impedance channel to open up farther forward, sort of Loganesque, but the whole thing having a decidedly Reynst or 'Jam Ja...

I haven't thought about the nozzle in that much detail. It is really a small drilled hole that is in a shoe with corresponding bucket blades. The size will probably be somewhere in the size range of .020" The steam enters on one side of the bucket and is redirected 180 degrees where it enters a fix...

It is amazing how creative You can become as You survey Your pile of burned out 2N3055"s and NE555 solid state components. I'll leave the HV and hi power stuff to the experts. Here is an expert circuit that I may try. ( am I masochistic ? or what ? ) Al Belli Here's another--ready to go. Look at: h...

Re: Heresy
I'm also very strongly interested in the high pressure heater/injection fuel system. To me it looks perfect, but Bill Hinote (a man of considerable practical experience) says such systems are terribly prone to coking up. Viv, I would HATE to be recorded as a person who discouraged development of a ...

Re: Damn lies and statistics or real thrust and fuel figures
Damn lies and statistics If you have any verified results would you please post it with as much extra information as you can, maybe even if you just got it to work:-) For instance how you measured the thrust and fuel consumption, what the weather was that day, how you went about the test and so on....

mark, I'll make an annular ring right away! I brought home a #60 drill and a little drill press today, a tube bender yesterday. I got your back, man. Hey--run some cutting oil, or 3-in-1, when you use that thing. I broke a small drill today, even though I was being careful. The darned things are re...

Mostly lurking these days, as I'm in the process of finishing my little Cri Cri in anticipation of getting it into the air finally (7 years in the making).. (Damn JPX engines).. :) Have you considered (pulse-) jet power for your Cri Cri? It's already been done (turbojets). You wouldn't need a whole...

Better start with propane and get the engine right before you tackle liquid fuels. Mine the forum and you'll find very little constructive and lots of great ideas for liquid fuel injection on a valveless. Bill Hinote did a successful liquid fueling of his four-pipe Kentfield, a nice guy that is unl...

Beautiful work gentlemen. The numbers finally start to speak. I'm curious about the reasoning behind the higher resonant frequency being better. Any clues for us backyard engineers? Read SAE paper #840422; it says something like, "the primary driver for the operating frequency of the engine is the ...

Another superior black and white photo. What will you use this engine for, testing sound proof booths? God, I bet the noise is unbelievable. It's a study in energy to be sure. Mark Actually, I'm not sure why, but this engine is noticeably "quieter" than the 4-tube Kentfield--and I don't know why. T...

I like the disk on the exit. Does it serve to intensify the return wave? Actually, it's VERY technical........................NOT! The final (straight) section of the exhaust was formed from flat stock (because of its off-nominal diameter); I wasn't happy wilth the consistency of the circularity, s...

Just to add my 2-cents worth: This engine is ultimately easy to start. I'm still sorting out the electronic igniton thingy, so a piezoelectric barbecue "clicker" is substituting--and quite effectively. No belching of flames--just a clean start, every time. Throttling range is amazing; I can turn it ...
