re: Nanosoft: New Chinese Project

Well, I just got back from my Choir Concert (Went great!) and here is the update. I cut it close but made it. I finished making all the mods which took me just over 2 hours. The engine looks pretty good, not quite as clean and polished as before but good. I didn't have time to start or test it yet. ...

re: Nanosoft: New Chinese Project

I've got my work cut out for me. It's 2:00 now and at 6:00 I have a choir concert. Tomorrow I go up to Portland right after school to spend the night there before going to the airport on Saturday. So I will try my hardest to finish and run the engine today. Thanks milisavljevic.

re: Nanosoft: New Chinese Project

Sorry for the delay(Went to bed early to catch up on sleep and my account became inactive so I couldn't log on). The intakes are flared out to 31mm right now.

re: Nanosoft: New Chinese Project

milisavljevic , I just wanted to say that I can't explain to you how thankful I am for all of the help you are giving me with this project. I did not intentionally try and add any aspects of the Kentfield design into mine but when I compare mine and the SNECMA Kentfield proportions I can see some ve...

re: Nanosoft: New Chinese Project

Thanks for all the information milisavljevic. It’s a lot to take in but I think I got it. As for were I was and am going now with this project. My goal was to achieve a relatively high thrust engine while not worrying too much about SFC. Although it does matter I don't care too much about SFC at t...

re: Nanosoft: New Chinese Project

I took great care in making all pieces according to my plans, so the length from sparkplug to exit of tail pipe is .8 meters + or - a mm. It looks to be right at .8 Meters though

re: Nanosoft: New Chinese Project

So here is the update: I played with the lengths of the intakes and tried sticking things as Ben suggested and I tried sticking solid pipes in the exhaust to get the same effect. What I have come up with so far is better but not running right. The best configuration I tried was just blocking one of ...

re: Nanosoft: New Chinese Project

Wow! Thanks for all the replies everyone, this is why I like this forum so much. So today I will try to get some testing in. First I will try Ben's idea with the tailpipe and then tinker with the intakes. I don't have much time today so that probably all I will get done. I have college apps to do. m...

Nanosoft: New Chinese Project

Well here is my latest creation. It is a dual intake Chinese style engine. I built the entire thing in one day. As always, all pieces are formed by hand, hammer, and anvil. All pieces were MIG welded and hand sanded and polished. I designed it using my own program and then UFlow to check. But appare...

LOL. Yes, I like it, Flaming Farm. Well i am all about planning ahead so perhaps we should get the email lists back up and start considering a date and place. I don't consider myself to be running full bore for the simple fact that i have yet to finish one of those project.

re: Hey Nanosoft--what's new in your PJ world??

Thanks for your concern Bill. I am doing just fine. I have had very little time to do anything pulsejet related since summer. During weekdays my time is spent at school, running, working out, doing homework and spending time with friends. On weekends I spend my time riding motorcycle with my dad mai...

re: Afterburner for FD3?

I have never heard of it being done. But i am sure it is possible but if you want to put this on a model aircraft it may not be a good idea because it will add more wieght to the jet plus it will consum a enourmus amount of fuel so your flight will be very limited unless you add more fuel witch adds...
