You are pretty much required by every single rocketry organization under the sun to use a key type safety system. It's a good idea, trust me.
No more hassle then a SPST switch, just a little more expensive.

re: Different oxidizers?
Everyone else in the world uses BP or something very similar. I wouldn't trust AP to not go off during launch, or even whilst prepping. Not exactly ideal for rocket use IMO. To be perfectly honest, I don't like where this discussion keeps going. Some crazy idea, feedback from the forum, then another...

Potassium Chlorate and sugar in an engine casing... Christ. That's a fairly powerful mix right there... Are you doing the chemistry for this? I'm almost certain that theres no Stochiometry equations going on here. Whatever happened to Mike K? He used to be no end of help to me before I got my Chemis...

Fairly sure Menthos is the singular form, as the tagline, "Menthos, the freshmaker" or something right?

re: mentos and cola?
If I remember correctly, the chemical reason for this is the Gum Arabic in the shell of the menthos reduces the surface tension of the water, allowing bubbles to form much more easily, and hence, all the co2 gas comes out of solution quite quickly.

Jesus. Cita, Calm down. He never said he thought you were a liar. Maybe expressing confusion over not being able to find something that should be there, but he never actually accused you of lying, nor did I think make you out to look like you were. Everyone, calm down, make up, and when that's done,...

Yes, Tom -- this is it! Thanks a lot. A flabbergasting device. The site contains a lot of other fun stuff, like the bangbox ignition device, or the microturbine, which hasn't been updated in a long time i'm sad to say... It's funny. I always forget to bookmark that site, yet I always remember how t...

Proof.
I want proof. Seriouisly. I know I said I'd be away for a while, but this place is quite addictive. However, returning to someone saying oh you need this, or this or this, and only to research and find that the idea is either completely unfounded, impossible or otherwise is just a pain in the ass. N...

Whey, update. I can now MIG weld, yay. Basically, we're going with 2 spinning disks to shoot the balls, sorta like a baseball pitching machine. Got half the frame welded up on saturday, and we're working on the ball hopper every day. I'm in team 759 - Systemetric, and Dang911, if you or anyone else ...

FIRST Robotics
Just so you all know, I've been not too active as of late, and thats going to pretty much drop to nothing for the next 6 weeks or so. I'm in the schools FIRST robotics team, and we've just been handed the challenge for the competition in 6 weeks or so, so we have that time to design, prototype, buil...

SuperHornet. Now you are just scaring me. You mentioned an Oxygen tank from an Oxy-Acetalyne rig, then propane and nitrous. I hope to god that you are not even considering using Oxygen and Acetalyne together for this application, and I still wince at the idea of mixing Oxygen and Propane in the sort...

Red,
Please refrain from posting any more PDF files till I work out which of these shouldn't be here. If any of the other mods want to help me out, would be much appreciated.
