re: 2006-09, 2006-10 -- K-PT 07X-2 build and test

Thanks again! Mike, Figuring out what hullaballoo could mean was not too difficult. Whatever happened, I think you have done a good job wrt. moderating yet again. Fredrik, Good luck with the "SB"! Your build-quality was, or rather, is very good. Thus, it should not be an issue. Personally, I can har...

re: School Project-- GOT QUESTIONS on -- K-PT 07X --

30 mbar suggests that you actually make use of a regulator. Downsides and probable error-sources of those common devices have been discussed in several threads. To briefly answer your question: Assuming you used my suggested radial "swizzle-stick" injector setup or a "fuel probe", 30 mbar will not b...

re: 2006-09, 2006-10 -- K-PT 07X-2 build and test

Too true, Eric. If it has not been due to bad soil (and wind) conditions for testing, I would have put the stuff a couple of meters further down in the old gravel pit, which is an MX aerial right now. Hmmm...it is not that deep anyway. Just unlike the open-cast mining holes, which will finally run o...

2006-09, 2006-10 -- K-PT 07X-2 build and test

INTRODUCTION The following paragraphs and attachments summarize, approximately, the build and first test of the K-PT 07X-2, the further developed K-PT 07X duct. Building and running the -07x-2 duct was attempted just three, or rather, two weeks before my current winter semester started because of v...

re: School Project-- GOT QUESTIONS on -- K-PT 07X --

Asuming that you build everything correctly to spec - including the injector -, and that you do not use a commonly spread pressure regulator together with the propane bottle: A compressed air pressure of 2.5 bar is not enough, when using an air-pistol setup. Best starting was possible with pressures...

re: The Latest In Advanced Noise Production technology

Very cool, Eric. Very cool! The heating pattern looks very good, IMO. --- It's always the same with one or the other guy complaining about noise, regardless where you go and when you test. Then even an expert opinion for the location is not much worth it. Anyway, have a nice week. !) BTW It is likel...

re: School Project-- GOT QUESTIONS on -- K-PT 07X --

Inserting a pipe of 8mm diameter is unlikely to cause you much of a problem. One thing I do strongly recommend is that you use stainless steel (commonly VA or V2A, at least in Germany) pipe instead of either copper, brass, or aluminum. When using one of the latter, it may happen that your fuel injec...

re: First Design-mini linear

Leo, Okay, when it is reffered to as what is going on in flute pipes, then it may indeed feature an inaccuracy. At least if the autor focused on a certain subject, but missed to properly lead to the animation's content. Or the other way round, the animation might be placed sub-optimally into the con...

re: School Project-- GOT QUESTIONS on -- K-PT 07X --

Wow! 40 EUR for pipes! Well, to keep it short: 98 mm ID pipe seems way too large. Sorry! The 98 mm ID pipe would be some 8 % off relatively to spec. That would already cause tailpipe expansion problems, together with timing alterations. While you were able to get all the other pipes in the right siz...

what you mean with collecting any figures ? you mean pictures ? and what is (T)SFC measurement ? Okay, maybe I was a little too fast. Pictures would be cool, but what I wanted to express is whether your goals were similar to the following: (1) Measuring (sea-level) static thrust, abbreviated "SLS",...

re: School Project-- GOT QUESTIONS on -- K-PT 07X --

Allright, I got the NEN standard and can follow from now on. =)* However you decide, I would strongly suggest to post the pipe standards (as you introduced them) before you start any building, this in order an estimation on the "how well will it still operate" question might be given. This procedure...

re: First Design-mini linear

"Leo", As I mentioned earlier, please keep in mind that it is an animation of the following thought-experiment: [1] An over-pressure peak is generated at one open-end, to be more exact: at the (end corrected) plane of the upstream port. [2] The single pressure peak traveles downstream the pipe. [3] ...

re: New APC Motor #1

Everything OT aside, the engine mounting has been done very properly. Especially the central intake-tailpipe support.
Only personally I would have made the other supports somewhat different in a few details.
One of rarely spread good examples like, for instance, it can be done.
