Bah, it just needs to detach at a specific speed... They're easy enough to make.

re: Remove Bruce Simpsons link from the links page

This is no place to launch a personal attack with silly threats. This issue needs to be resolved between the parties involved. Doing it here, in this way, will only damage your reputation and public image. You (Luc and Viv) have made immense contributions to this forum and community and it pains me ...

Re: re: American West Coast Pulsejet Meet, April 30

While there are dissimilarities between the Dynajet and the Chinese, there are valid points to be made by Larry. For one, a Dynajet is ramming in air down its throat at 200mph, taking advantage of forward air speed. While it is not a ramjet, it is using ram air. And it is also about the most stream...

Check if it's cotton. If it is, it'll protect your hair next time you're parting flames!

Re: re: American West Coast Pulsejet Meet, April 30

Do it, Chris! I like your engines -- big and easygoing, just like you. It's been a privilege meeting you. Ha! Thanks Bruno. I'll build as soon as I get a design, some space, and the tools off of the pallets in a new shop. Maybe we can scale and design an engine as a group. Sounds like a fun project...

re: American West Coast Pulsejet Meet, April 30

Bruno, Mike, Yes, yes. I agree. The acoustic resonance will be very close when just scaling duct diameter. I'm bashing my way through uflow and the examples Bill and Graham (I think) posted mony months ago, but it's slow going with the "little time to concentrate" issue. I wish I wasn't so busy and ...

Bruno,

Ahh yes. It's all coming back now. Certainly is impressive, either way. I'm looking forward to understanding a bit more about uflow so I can model the Laird specs and work out a larger engine.

Those dual intake chinese cruise missle engines are beautiful, imho.

re: American West Coast Pulsejet Meet, April 30

This only matters to those looking to fly R/C aircraft with pulsejets... Some of us don't want that and never will. So, comparing the two engines purely on static thrust is valid for many folks. IIRC, Ed's Chinese was only scaled in diameter and not length. Nano, Ed, is this correct? This is an engi...

Bruno, Ben, Quit all the crap about not being necessary or contributing. You have and did, even if you had no idea you were. Us Uh-mer-kuns are so sneaky, we had you working, thinking, engineering, welding, bashing, and going on beer runs for us and you don't remember any of it! Next time, if it's i...

re: Numbers

I like where this is going. Accurate dimensions and thrust measurements are key.

I also think that Ed's Chinese would be an ideal uFlow exercise, if we can actually model it. I'd love to build a larger chinese engine and work toward some changes that would increase thrust.

re: Am I the FIRST (actual) girl here??????

Heh, Fire! I love me some Fire.

Are you mailing the CDs, or do you want to attempt to zip and upload? Mail is probably better...

And Mike, thanks again for putting the meet together. I've been inspired and I think it's time to get a Henrob.

Wish we could have done the uFlow talk...

I made it home from the PJ Meet late last night. What a weekend. The setting was beautiful and the engines were amazing. Everyone there was amazing. 13+ of the finest human beings I've ever had the pleasure to meet. Pictures and results are sure to be coming soon. I can't wait for the next one and h...

re: Bruno's swirl can concept

I'd say we need a piece of pyrex on one or both ends of the combustion can and access to a super high speed camera. It would be really neat to see the entire engine cycle in super slow motion. We'd learn a ton, maybe. Anyone that's coming to the meet have time to whip one up? Ha. Time, we need more ...
