Re: Valveless PJ and magnetism
Hi Parabellum, The "American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics" paper entitled "Improving the Performance of a Valveless Pulse Combustor using Unsteady Fuel Injection" - shows how they used the pulse jet pulses to run a pressure tranducer to run a pulse fuel delivery system. You should be ab...

Awesome...LOL !
Metiz - you're the inventor of the pulse jet powered skipping rope!
Almost a circular travelling pulse jet...woohoo !
Good to see that you're OK !

Re: Valveless PJ and magnetism
Ok - re magnetism and pulse jets...usually any magnetic material would suffer greatly from the heat-(unless you're of planetary core size...LOL) Normally the colder you get the better the magnetic field gets - which sort of rules out pulse jets. However - thermodynamically generated electricity coul...

"Magneto hydrodynamics" - strange that you should mention that...
Anyone thought of using the theory of "Magneto hydrodynamics" as pertaining
to hot gases to effect a intake valve?

Re: Tiny linear valveless?
A friend of mine told me how he knew of a guy that used work for a car wrecking yard.
Anyway - this person filled up a car tyre tube with acetylene and then threw it on a bon fire.
Huge bang - broke lots of windows and after that stunt he got a DCM - "Don't Come Monday".

Re: Just a thought
Interestingly enough the recent Boeing patent - they have what could be best described as an inner combustion chamber full of holes - just like Nick proposed but just bigger. Sort of looks like the cooling holes of a Jet Turbine Combustion Chamber -except that instead of a lateral hole orientation t...

Re: Calculating top speed on ice...
So a book about a 'frozen in time' jet engine - in particular the valved pulse jet? It would be nice to read about the Soviet developments mentioned in the book. As it about pulse jets for model aircraft there perhaps would be no mention of modern development of valveless pulse jets. Still - it woul...

Re: Calculating top speed on ice...
I can see where Johansson is coming from - no real referance books etc out there.( as in modern ones - pulse jets as I understand it have been 'frozen' in time since the 40s-50s). My Turbine study books are absolutely chocablock with turbine who, what why, when stuff and theory etc etc. The only refe...

Enics PuVRD M135
Thought you would like to see the PuVRD M135 engine from the Enics Company. "Pulsating air-breathing engine is designed for the flight of the target, starting from the start with the ground and catapult flight at altitudes up to 3000m and a speed up to 400 km / h with overloads. " Technical characte...

Re: What you want and what you have... are 2 different things
Hi HPSCL, Pulse jets - you can take them as far as you want. You can find stuff on this site for the basic "Hey I just want an engine that makes noise" to the ins and outs of the science of 'Unsteady Combustion'. Free plans - dude there are heaps here . ( or you can do a net patent search as well ) ...

Re: origonal ???
Hi Bruce - hows things up North ?,
I agree exactly -shouldn't be diamonds in unsteady flow - but there it was.
A nice contradiction in all that is 'proper' - I'm not worried though...things to think about and all that.

Re: origonal ???
OK - take this with a grain of salt or whatever( your comments greatly received etc). Had a chat with my High Speed Aerodynamics tutor regarding one of my pulse jets and what I observed.( Yes -I'm stuying that now). What I wanted was his take (and input) on my theory on what was happening. My theory...

Re: origonal ???
The problem is going to be the nature of unsteady combustion.
However - in saying that...interested to see your ideas to combat this problem.
