Re: re: American West Coast Pulsejet Meet, April 30

I am an earnest believer in equal rights and, while respecting the reds deeply, think that whites should also be given a chance. The problem is cooling them. Ditto for the beer. Has anyone turned his attention to the problem of cooling? After all, pulsejets are hot work. Rest assured that we'll hav...

re: Fo Mi Chin Re-work [Version II]

I wonder if it would run on WD-40. Many an hour of my youth was spent igniting things with WD-40. I learned a lot about flame fronts, pressure, etc from those experiments.

And yes, I still have all my fingers and both eyes...

Bill, please turn up the heat (pun intended) on Avinal for a yes or no as soon as possible. Never fear, I will have an alternate site for sure by early next week! Yes! I'd love to throw the site or area name on the shirt. It'll add character to it, or something... Chris makes a good point to me off...

Google Maps just introduced a satellite image option.

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=avenal+ca ... &t=k&hl=en

Pretty cool stuff, if this is the site we'll be using.

Re: re: American West Coast Pulsejet Meet, April 30

I'm going to have a "rail" that is pre-drilled to mount to my new thrust stand. We'll be able to clamp engines to the rail, with vise-grips or c-clamps or hose clamps (I'll bring lot of those too). Slight changes in calibration will be accounted for, with the force gauge I'll be bringing. Great! I ...

Re: re: American West Coast Pulsejet Meet, April 30

Jesus, guys, calm down; I'm just a fat middle-aged, slightly buffoonish spin doctor. In Shakesperean terms, think Falstaff. Each of you has done so much more than I did. I just talk a great deal. My greatest known skill (apart from the ability to sell hot air) is sharpening pencils with a knife and...

Ok, then there is no way I can miss this. After all, Bruno, it was some of your writings that got me addicted to this damn mess. Engines I plan to bring: Two slightly different medium sized lockwoods Triangle straight lockwood Small lockwood that hates to start but then auto starts once hot Any othe...

Re: re: pocket lockwood?

I'm seriously considering it. someone's got to show up with one! I've seen chris's ickle baby locky, guess all he needs is acetylene. ;-) I took it out of the box today and worked on forming the tailcone some more. I'm certainly hoping to complete it, pre-meet. I've got acetylene at the shop, but w...

Damn you. I still haven't got my baby lockwood welded up and it was WAY bigger than that thing.

Specs, we need specs....

Good work.

re: American West Coast Pulsejet Meet, April 30

Just a note to count me in if I can manage that weekend free (so far so good!). I'll bring a pile of engines, and some other fun stuff. What limitations do we have at the site? Any fire restrictions? Have access to 50amp at 220V or so? Are we camping there, hotelling it, or...? Thanks! Can't wait. C...

Beautiful work!

I'd love to see some video when you get to firing it.

Please discuss as much as you are comfortable with on the forum as it helps all of us in some way. Start a thread!

Beautiful.

Mark, I agree completely with what you have written, but our 'Resosys' was precisely making a point that Bruce's pulsejet work is bunk. Read the posting immediately above mine. I was responding to that. Ok, I may have been a bit harsh on old Bruce in my post, but his recent activity is pure con in ...

Re: re: New throw together linear lockwood start within 3 se

Yours are big suckers compared to mine, Chris, ones I look forward to seeing again. As you know, I've focused almost exclusively on 2" CC engines to date, which so far have hated "front loading" like that. Yeah, I shouldn't have posted in this thread. It was more of a note to me to get it done. The...

re: New throw together linear lockwood start within 3 second

I've got to publish my lockwood specs. The intake is larger than the exhaust, and they start every time, first pop. Turn on the fuel, turn on the spark and air, and boom, they're running. Full range throttle and what seems to be a fair amount of thrust. No thrust numbers yet. I'm hoping to make it d...
