This probably does not count, but,,,,,
I have been tinkering with a sort of pulse to ram design for years now, Nothing working yet, but it could.....
Cheers

Re: Yet another pulseramjet
When you find a way to make that Annular Valveless run well and reliably, you will have done very well, and let me know how you did it I am still trying. Off hand the other complication would be that you will need some very heat resistant material to withstand the heat load. I am not saying it is im...

Lost Wax casting.
A most versatile method, I have used it for jewelry, never quite thought of using it for jets. Thanks for the eye opener.

Re: Pulse jet driven tip turbine fan
When I was 12ish I tinkered with such a design, Depending on suction to run the turbine. A teacher pointed out that gases ( such as air ) are too "stretchy" I think he said, to allow this system to operate effectively. Even if a steady steady state operation was achieved, throttle change would almos...

Just my .02 worth of local currency: Just because it has not been done, does not mean it can not be done.

Re: Very simple pulse turbine
You probably would not seals. Close .003 to .005 clearance on the closest approach would probably be fine, a minute cup in the end of the vein may be needed but I doubt it. Also the enclosure would seem to need to spread slightly to the exhaust side, just slightly, expansion path and all... The Majo...

Re: metal jam jar experiments
Missed one thing I am planing on making some test units out of pipe, so I have greater control of dimensions and can add internal structures &c.
Still looking for a better way to film/record this stuff.
Cheers

Re: metal jam jar experiments
Fun they are, but some what mysterious to me in some ways. My little tin can starts up like a typical JJ and ramps up to a real zip like a little thermo. It has even heated it's CC partially red, and run totally dry. Impressive to me because I've been using old oiled fuel made for 2 stroke model air...

Re: Now It Can Be Told ... Cyclodyne Revealed
I just re read this thread, with perhaps less tired eyes. My toroidal CC design was intended to capture pressure in an accumulator and use it for ram air augmentation. Never got built. Your engine is a simple build by comparison... A few other denizens of my note books have this feature, in one form...

Re: No Weld Pipe Jets (Again)
I have tried threading the OD of 1/2" thin wall tubing, and the ID of a matching pair of washers. The washers tighten on either side of your CC wall ( another glue can top in this case ) with a little heat resistant goo it works so far. Yes you need taps and dies, But no welding is required, and it ...

Ok I will just have stay away from this site at work. The sound of me busting up, was not exactly what the boss expected to hear coming from my desk..... Fortunately I work for my wife, and she already KNOWS I am nuts, so it was not as bad as it could have been, but still... Any way......... That lo...

Re: metal jam jar experiments
Go back one page in this thread. It is about about 1/4 of the way down. Or I could quote my self... Ok final edit ( I hope ); Approximate dimensions. CC: 2"ID x 3" long Tail Pipe: 16" x 3/8"ID Vents: 1/4" qty 2 Approximate should be read with emphasis. And I did add 16.5" to the tail pipe to make it...

Update completed.
One other thing;
The one thing that can be seen in the very bad video I made is my troff of ice water. I melted several batches of ice cubes filming.
Floating is an issue, so is vibration, be prepared.
