Re: A Better Fuel Alternative for Testing?

I wonder how long a cylinder would last in __ application. I have a little gas forge I run off the natural gas line headed to my BBQ, doesnt work as well as it did on propane though had to repipe the whole thing.

Re: Can you spin metal on a regular metal lathe?

Thank you, good advice. Im trying to do some copper work and the video I watched where they worked on copper involved a big torch keeping the metal hot while they spun it at low speed. I cant find a chart to show what rpm to use for what metal but first steps first find some tools and make the toolr...

Can you spin metal on a regular metal lathe?

Re: "Afterburners on valveless pulse jets

In the ramjet forums somewhere is a ramjet being pumped by a valveless PJ, similar kinda but it worked very well if I recall.

Re: Thinking about ram-rockets

Producing thrust =/= net thrust, especially in something I build. So even if the ramjet makes thrust its probably not enough to keep it moving skyward. This and all projects are on hold while I'm at school cant burn down the new house!!

Re: Thinking about ram-rockets

Hmm, gotta rethink it then.
Would the compressed air bottom out in a tank too at these accelerations?

Re: I have received a rude reminder

I injured my knee last summer, its not bad enough to need surgery but not good enough to handle the stairs at my new place. I'm out of pain meds, do I go purposely mess up my knee to get surgery covered (make it looks like an accident :P ) or bite my lip and suffer through it Totally kidding about i...

Thinking about ram-rockets

Took a good long look at my propane torch today and wondered if it was the key to making a hobby ramjet-boosted rocket. Even if the ramjet doesnt boost the rocket any higher would be cool to have a giant controlled torch shoot out the back. I stuck this in the ramjet forum b/c I fear the ramjet's fu...

Re: Pressure gain combustion ?'s

Just been thinking and playing around in the garage.... At what point is induced flow "bad" for a pj? Partial chokes could be setup to restrict the high-speed/flow of air so the pj continues to run at a good pace but the turbine is allowed to do as it wishes even if thats just push air through that ...
