Larry, Thanks for the PJ pic. So perhaps the real question is what kind of temps can JB stand up to. I've just begun experimenting with 'furnace cement' myself, though I cannot give any recommendations yet positive or negative. It is supposed to be good to 3000 odd degrees though, and I was suprised...

Larry, Thanks for sharing all of your info. Maggie...she is a beautiful machine! One thing I don't get is how the JB Weld will hold up to combustion temps. I readilly admit that I know little about this wonder welder, but I would imagine if the engine works well, that it will be glowing hot. Will JB...

For .024" stainless, You want 20 Amps. with a travel rate of 21"/min. Straight argon at 6 to 8 CFH flow, and .040" ceriated tungsten elctrode. Wow! I can't get any kind of welding done on such thin sheet with such a big electrode/amperage. I use .020 thoriated electrode and 5-10 amps on my Lincoln ...

Luc, I count three missing: Mike's very interesting quote of Andrew, Viv's, and Yours, all dated Mar 24, I believe. I also see numerous posts missing from other forums. I was hoping to explore some of the thoughts raised in the Andrew quote, but without the original, it is difficult Regards, Raymond

Dave, Viv, Getting at the physics of these engines has been a long quest for me. If you model them simply as a ramjet, with a fuel jet induced airflow, then they are pretty easy to analize, and I agree with Dave's assesment of a max pressure ratio of 1.2:1 (I get 1.26:1 with a 165 psi, 1200 F resevo...

The Dynajet I have is a 9 mm thread and a nut. The nut is screwed on the spark plug after you insert the plug into the hole in the combustion chamber, no welding is really needed. Just a tiny wrench inside the combustion chamber to hold the nut steady as you tighten the spark plug with another wren...

Mike, Thanks for sharing your Kazoo work. Very interesting. I was considering an ignition setup similar to yours for a little 'burner' I'm playing with in the garage. How are you getting the sparkplug to screw into the sheet metal? Have you welded a boss? Do you tap the thin sheet metal? Also what i...

Luc, Do I need the Solid Works Viewer plug-in to see the coils file? All I'm getting is gibberish when I try to open it. I'm downloading SWV now, but have a slow connection so will take awhile. Viv, Luc, Nice to see you guys tip your hand. Thanks. It helps me give some (hopefully) constructive input...

With the smaller designs, boundary layer growth in the ejectors will change the effective length/diameter ratio more than in the larger ones. ...

I can't remember the guys name right now, but he is in the G8-2 tech manual. As I mentioned he wasn't very scientific, but he did mention checking thrust by pushing against a scale with the aiplanes nose. he had gone through a few iterations to get the engines to run properly. He implied that Uegen...
