Re: Calculating Fuel Injector Nozzle Diameter
Eric, Your reply leaves me to wonder if a smaller nozzle - w/higher pressure works so well with smaller engines, because of the frequency at which they run? Unless I'm totally mistaken, this engine seems to have a combustion cyclic rate that is much lower than my tiny 3lb.'er? Funny though, because ...

Resojet
Thanks to Larry Cottril, who has a "simple design method" , which I found while surfing for info on pulsejets. Although I built an "inline combustor"?, the simple design method proved to be very helpful. Even though my chamber pipe and tailpipe were specific diameters that did not quite match the re...

Calculating Fuel Injector Nozzle Diameter
With all of the free information that is available to design and build a valveless pulsejet, there is no info on how to correctly calculate the fuel injector nozzle diameter... Is this subject a closely-guarded secret? I received a little 3lb. Thermojet as a gift. It included instructions, troublesh...

Re: Trouble with new pulsejet design
Gentlemen, I truly appreciate the quick replies. As I've stated in previous posts, I'm new to the design and fabrication of pulsejets. Mr. Everman - to answer your questions first; The LENGTH dimensions are not scaled - I'm scaling these according to a chamber-to-barrel ratio (C:B ratio, in the "spu...

Trouble with new pulsejet design
I've built several pulsejets, by simply upscaling Eric Beck's plans for the 3lb. Thermojet. I've never had any real problem that couldn't easily be figured out, except with this latest design; http://i41.tinypic.com/2hz643d_th.jpg http://i39.tinypic.com/15wl8h1_th.jpg ... (Sorry, for the lack of an ...

Re: Interested? No.2 (in liquid)
This topic has me VERY interested! I had an instant brainstorm, as soon as I read it, but invite the senior members of this forum to pick it apart, if it seems unfeasible to them. A simple carburetor has fuel drawn out of it and into the engine, by the vacuum that is created by the piston(s) moving ...

Re: Thunderchine starting problems
Oh my, where to begin... Fluidity (for lack of a better word) is defined as the physical property of a substance that enables it to flow. I believe the word you were looking for is " viscosity "; however, its definition stems from a different perspective. Actually, neither of those two words can co...

Re: Thunderchine starting problems
I'm new to this hobby, but have been thinking about fueling problems for the past few days... Fluidity (for lack of a better word) is defined as the physical property of a substance that enables it to flow. The Thunderchine has two injectors, each "a 3 point style", with three 1.5mm holes drilled in...

Re: my valveless will run but wont throttle up
rtemple989, I had the same problem (with the same engine) of no-start / flame-out. The injector setup with this engine (if it is the Model J3-200; purchased off of ebay) appeared to be a well thought-out setup. But the fittings just would not seal against the flare, no matter how tight they were. Wi...

2.7 Liter Valveless thermojet
Based on the dimensions of something that works (Eric Beck's 3 pound thrust Thermojet plans), I thought that I could combine my extensive knowledge of "potato cannon" design & fabrication with my extremely limited knowledge of pulse jet design. Eric's "Combustion Chamber" volume of the 3 lb. Thermoj...
