BTW, how much (flow rate) propane will the Elektra II take? I assume for something this small an OPD valved tank will be fine. Do I need to eliminate the regulator (I am going to use parts from an old gas grill) I did find some articles on care & feeding of Model-T buzz coils: http://www.smokstak.co...

Are the Model T ignition buzz boxes easy to repair? I'm seeing some on eBay, and some sellers just say "Sold as is, seller has no way to test whether it works or not". So I'm wondering two things... 1. Is it probable that it does work. 2. If it doesn't work, can I likely repair it. The ones that are...

Well, I tired two different Electric Cattle Fence Chargers to power a spark plug. One is a modern, smal one that is good for up to six miles of electric fence. It sparked only for a second when I plugged it in. I could stand there and keep plugging it in, or rig a switch to get sparks at a regular i...

Unfortunately... augmenter will not benifit nearly as much from the heat and expanding gas as a ramjet, since it is not set up to really harness the energy to accelerate the exhaust. That makes sense... wrong geometry for the job. BTW, since this thread is essentially about a TP180... Would you con...

Thanks Simon, I'll print it and try to read it. I haven't done any fluid dymanics type math in a long time, so if it's as bad as Jim makes it sound, I may have a hard time (hopefully I can skim the equations and get the gist of it). I would think water injection would be a good enhancement, especial...

So it has some sort of Bernoulli effect with a pressure distribution pushing in the forward direction? I'll have to look into that some more. It sounds sorta like getting something for nothing, but I have never studied it in detail. My understanding is different than what y'all are describing, so I ...

I don't think you quite have the function of the augmentor understood clearly. (I'm not trying to criticize... I'm "Socially Challenged" so being tactful and saying things so they sound nice is not my gift, I'm trying to be helpful) The augmentor doesn't work by adding thrust so much as it does by m...

Mark, just watched the vids, that's great. What fun! I used to spend a good amount of time on Friday Harbor. know it? Hard to imagine not, if you're in the Puget Sound... I assume you mean Adam's videos? I sail on Puget sound, but have only been to the San Juan Islands once (Deer Harbor on Orcas, a...

I worked on it some more tonight... All I have left is the support infrastructure; just a board with a heat shield and the hookup from the copper tube to the propane tank. Oh, and the electric source for the spark plug. (Not that there isn't potential for complications with the tank hookup) Click th...

Get a helmet. Even a cheap beatup bicycle helmet or a hockey helmet is better than nothing. You can get a used helmet cheap at a thrift store... stay away from the poly-foam type though (it will melt) The expanded polystyrene bead type like in the picture melt easily in spite of the thin layer of ha...

Re: Bat Mobile

Place a old shock between your frame and steering rod. A steering stabilizer might be a big help. Sometimes you can get a similar effect by tightening up the steering knuckles (the pivot bolt in this case) A little drag on the steering can dampen it effectively sometimes. But getting the right cast...

Pretty cool! What was all the squeaking sounds... was that the hamster wheel that really powers it? 8) You need a camera operator who can pan with the action so we can see you... it looked sorta funy to see you move through the frame like that... like an old Benny Hill skit or something. You should ...
