Re: newbie, running but poorly!
WOW! Im not an expert at all on these beasts, but, i would say that is definitely in surge. No need for a piece of string for this one, look what its doing to your blower pipe. All the same, very cool! (or hot if you ask your turbine stage, little too bright there i would say) Well done for getting ...

Re: my new (ol' but low cost) ride
Thought i better add my old girl in here (newest bike ive owned!) Ex cop bike, all extras bar flashing blues. Rossco Edit... Simon, i rode an FZR of a mates... NUTS! i only reved to 12000 at first... i was then told to not go below 12000, insane. This one reved out to 21000 if i remember correctly. ...

Re: Refilling propane bottles
Guys, no need to "discuss" this back and foward on whether it is possible or not. Very simple logic/physics here, and rather frustrating for the filler! Ive tried to trick it many ways. Physics is stubourn! By ballancing pressure you are feeding some gas into the filling bottle, hence your hose gett...

Re: Gassifier Gas?
I was making a bad pun, emulsion/muddied water ;) What i refer to is the cracked fuel nuts out there, all getting very close to sprouting "zero point" stuff. If you are talking on experimentation with gasifying liquid or solid and mixed fuels, and undestanding (or trying to in my case) the underlayi...

Re: Gassifier Gas?
I have played with some gasification. Short answer... i agree with viv. Longer answer, LOTS o' gas required! A standard gasifyer may put out enough for the piston engine it is designed for (just) although a pj will take a really large gasifyer. The other problem will be the vacuume draw most gasifye...

Re: Lockwood simulations, wow
Hey guys, Had another play with the Laird today, including MOST of the day rendering a flow trajectory time scale animation. Many many calculations per 1000 lines, per itteration = very tired computer. Interesting animation, although not all i was hoping for. Uploaded to youtube this time, crap qual...

Re: eBay Change Email Notice
Same thing happened to me at one stage. I got redirected on my way to ebay, signed in, re-redirected back to real ebay without knowing a thing. Dont use a login page as a shortcut in your favorites. Similarly, i had an auction going or was watching one and found my outbox full. "I" had been sending ...

Re: Lockwood simulations, wow
Did some tweeking after discusions today. Locky is looking a lot better *, just correcting dims. (funny that) *the plans have issues I will improve my inputs next, although this is a good example of the big difference "small" changes can make. M. may elaborate here. If you use the Lockwood plans i m...

Re: Lockwood simulations, wow
I do not know what this guy is trying to achieve with these simulations!??? Although, thought i better "pull my finger out" before i critisised others work. So, here is what i expect to see in a Locky. (note: I am NOT endorsing Lockwoods!) This particular engine (http://www.pulse-jets.com/phpbb3/dow...

Re: "Thunderchine" 55 lb thrust pulsejet plans
Grim, Congrats on the run, pity about being shut down. This is the way of PJ's. Brilliant, very nice idle. (its got more power than that!) Oh the mild scaling, love it, its been so long since my old mild engines (or any for that matter). It does not get the same effect on the inside (as im sure your...

Hey Metiz, Yes, i realized as soon as i ran into your first "hint", sorry mate, typo only i promise! :D I agree with Graham on the silicone sealant, although i would go for the automotive stuff. Lot tougher in my experience, ive used the high temp ones on exhasts/carbs/wheetbix for years. It burns a...
