Re: Mike's Build Log
Ha, dude, I love that picture. I see you've taken over the dining room table. It's the "where's waldo" of pulsating combustion. Thanks again for the toy loan. Going fishing for the week at 9,600 feet or I'd bring them along! Enjoy the Fishing Mike! Mark - My new Mill arrives at 9am tomorrow so I wi...

Re: Mike's Build Log
Hi Mark, yes as soon as I get a window I'll try a simple Jam Jar - Just to see how the Resin performs. I have some if the "hard " resin but I also have a bottle of the "casting" resin which is the high heat one which I'll use for the jam jar. If it works then it certainly opens up a lot of new possi...

Re: Mike's Build Log
Hi Mark, yes its really only just Mikes experiments with PLA which prompted me ref the possibility of printing a high(er)temp model. Here are the details for the resin https://photocentric3d.com/daylightresins/?v=9b6a28c805e0 I have a Printer like this one ( its precursor - a smaller one) https://ph...

Re: Mike's Build Log
Here's what I'm wondering... if you put a baffle near the bottom of the pot would that hold the liquid fuel at the bottom and allow the pot to run more normally? Like this https://www.dropbox.com/s/76s6rvvzq0a75n7/jam%20jar%20v1.png?dl=0 I have a resin 3d printer and some "Casting Resin" which doesn...

Re: Mike's Build Log
Hi all, great work with the latest engine Mike- the Jam Jar /closed end concept is looking very promising. Speaking as the layman's layman of course- ref the spinning action looks great! they are very picky about running but I wonder if this is a function of the liquid fuel being spun out to the sid...

Re: Odd Metal jars
A friend suggested putting a piece of sponge in a pipe and running gas through that. This might also serve as a surge suppressor I'm sending Metiz a super sensitive valve of my own design, cant wait to see how he gets on :D - I'm hoping the super long run times that i got can be repeated :D Then i ...

Re: Odd Metal jars
Ha! got it to run on propane! The water was getting to hot, even though it was running though a copper coil before going back in the resevoir. Had to stop it or my pump would die. I'll get a video next :D Cool beans buddy!!, get yourself a heatsink/radiator etc and then...... who knows?? a Reynst j...

Re: Odd Metal jars
Hi Joe, personally i set up the cooling so that it would thermo siphon, so i have the cooling pipes- one at the top one at the bottom, i just think its a bit more efficient. great stuff though Matiz :D Viv will recall the tests we did with my version - I did very similar stuff with a syringe and var...

Re: Odd Metal jars
Wow, this is getting more and more interesting! I've been running the pot with white spirit and the water jacket full of water. I've ordered the parts for the cooling system. Strangely enough, this thing loves being realy hot! it works a lot better like that. When the water is boiling and gushing o...

Re: Odd Metal jars
I remember a long time ago there was a fellow soliciting on this site for people interested in selling and working for a company that made pulse heaters, somewhere in New England I think. I received one of his brochures but I think I have lost it. From memory it had a flap valve on top of a somewha...

Re: Odd Metal jars
ha ok then, so it just sits on top :) I noticed a few other things: the top plate has a much larger D then on the drawing, and it looks like there's some copper coil wrapped around. Is this also for cooling or is it just to hold te injector? Ok I'm going to make a concept sketch in sketchup, BUT!! ...
