Re: re: Newbie questions on anular combustion/Schreckling de

PS: What size of turbo would you recommend? Will a turbo out of a 2,5l car do it or will I need a bigger one? (For use in a kart or something) The turbo I used on my kart had a 52 mm inlet, it was from a Volvo FL4 (if I recall correctly) the engine was a 4 liter. The bigger the better! =) Get a cop...

Just give me a call before you drop by so I'll be home.
Well I was picking up a Hearse! =)
The worst part was the last bit from Borlänge to Malung by railbus. The tracks wasn´t of the same quality as down here! *lol*

I´ll give you a call.

re: Johansson´s Pocketbike

I´ve been using that setup on all my DIY-GTs with good results. And the diode/transistor don't need to protude into the intake if one is precise when drilling the mounting holes.

And the only RPM´s that is of interest is idle, (start) and MAX. So a cheap multimeter will do fine.

Code: Select all

RPM = freq x 60.

Re: re: Newbie questions on anular combustion/Schreckling de

Thanks to you Fredrik! But my problem was not how to build the ignition circuit or how to spool the turbine up but how to place the ignition inside the tubine (imho slightly complicated with these reverse-flow-combuster thing). My fault by badly explaining my problem. I'll maybe come back to your o...

Re: re: New welding/cutting technology, anyone tried it?

If you are around Borlänge sometime, feel free to drop by and give it a try. You might want to bring some scrap metal though, as I'm more or less out of stock now. I was in Borlänge a month ago, on my way to Malung to pick up a car. But whenever I´m in the neighbourhood again I´ll come and visi...

Re: re: Newbie questions on anular combustion/Schreckling de

Also I thought of a new question: how should I build the ignition? For the moment I'm completely helpless with this but I'm thinking about it. For an ignition 'box' you can use An old weedwhacker motor with the piston, cylinder and conrod removed, spin it with an electric drill. Build one of the ma...

Re: re: Newbie questions on anular combustion/Schreckling de

Ok I've now kind of understood the funktioning of an annular type reverse flow combuster. But there's still one question: are there any progs or terms to calculate the combustor housing, flame tube and jetpipe?? Or do you just do this like you feel it could be right? Hi Dennis! If your going to buil...

Re: re: Johansson´s Pocketbike

Hi multispool, Hi Fricke, No, I was only referring to additional cooling with Kero and air flow. Ok, I´m going to use a lube and cooling setup on the GT that differs a lot from Microturbines. More on that in another thread. No need to clutter Johanssons thread with this =) I will PM you soon with a...

re: New welding/cutting technology, anyone tried it?

Hi Anders

Do You recommend the 'welder/cutter' ? The reason I´m asking is that I have some contacts with the 'east' =) And should be able to get one a bit under their retail price!

If you feel like it send a PM in Swedish with your thought on it!

Re: re: Johansson´s Pocketbike

Lubrication requirement is very low. if the balls are damp with oil they work well. too much oil and they can skid and destroy themselves, They require pre-loading. Although suitable for higher temperature enviroments, they do appreciate some cooling, either by fuel mist and/or air flow. In your op...
