re: American West Coast Pulsejet Meet
Anthony, what about Jazz or Tango? Their fares are usually half the price of Air Canada, even though they are all really the same company. Greyhound usually offers a $68 anywhere-to-anywhere special during the summertime. If the meet happens then, you could hitchhike down to Plattsburgh or Albany NY...

Poor Bruno! Last time I looked, YOW to LAX was $130 CDN one way. Flights originating from YYZ are probably the same or maybe even cheaper.

If Bruce needs money so badly, why doesn't he just make some porn? He already has the camera and the webspace, so WTF? Right now there is zero porn coming out of NZ so he already has a niche market to exploit. Maybe he can involve his jets somehow.

re: GLC Pricing Policy vs Canadian Taxe Regulations
Frankly, I don't see any reason not to ship by regular first class mail. It's way cheaper than ExpressPost, takes only two weeks to reach most places in Canada and the USA, and is more reliable than most people give it credit for. I've only ever had one problem, a lost pair of pants coming from Alas...

re: N20 Kits
My stock 1992 Honda Civic LX had a gizmo on it that cut the throttle once it hit 190 km/h. I could tell because of the sound of the engine and the fact that it was next to impossible to get that car to go any faster. I got it to do 210 km/h once in between Montreal and Ottawa on a bit of downhill an...

Who needs a sniping service? What happens if somebody bids some exorbitant amount and you wind up winning your object, but it costs four times what you were prepared to pay? I will login about two minutes before the auction ends and then refresh the page every 20 seconds or so, watching for activity...

re: GLC Pricing Policy vs Canadian Taxe Regulations
Thanks for the clarification, Luc. I knew I was mostly right, because whenever I get stuff from the USA via Canada Post, I have to pay the GST at the post office when I go to pick it up. I got my own GST/import/export number just so I could save money on that steam engine I bought but it didn't work...

re: GLC Pricing Policy vs Canadian Taxe Regulations
Luc, you should not be charging any kind of sales tax on sales to the USA or any other country. The post office or shipping company will calculate the sales tax payable based on the declared value of the shipment and will collect and remit it to the appropriate government. For all sales within Canad...

re: What the?
Thanks for the shout-out, Paul! I have been keeping well but the Great Steam Project is on hold at least until the snow clears. The engine is sort of ... outdoors ... right now. I took it all apart and it seems there are no piston rings! I hope that is not terrible. I have the steam line oiler and p...

No, I just sort of lost interest in the forums for a couple of months. By the way, Tom, I'm still waiting for that monkeydust CD. I wouldn't mind getting my camera back either. Royal Mail takes about 10 days from England to Canada. I know cause I just bought a tweed jacket off a guy from the UK.

This Michael A. Stram may be a technical genius and even might know a think or two about international patent law, but when it comes to doing business he is pretty dumb. Viv, I recommend you first attempt to patent his invention in Canada, the EU and the UK, thus preventing him from obtaining said p...

The Cummins diesel model can carry two tons in the box and pull an eight ton load behind it with the appropriate hitch. When I trade up in a couple of years, I'm getting one.

Wow, that's the same engine I have! Next time I see a rig wiped out on the 401 I will offer some help.
