re: dave's corner 2

Just to say a little something if I can. I have little to no idea what's going on, as I rarely have time to delve into the jet portions of the site these days, I try andkeep a prescense in the Rocket forum, as that's my main interest, and I know some of my stuff there. However, this sounds all too f...

re: Colored fire and other experiments questions...

There's nothing wrong with something that ignites with water, measures can easily be taken to prevent contact between the mixture and moisture. My main concern is that any laboratory in the world would have burst a blood vessel had they seen you using your nose to check what white vapours could have...

Zippiot, For christs sakes, do not make me lock this thread. I do not want to see any more posts till you can assure me of your at least basic chemical proficeincy. Fume Cupboards usually only sound alarm when the toxic compounds building up inside are beginning to exceed what the extractor fan can ...

Well actually, it's already been locked. And then Unlocked again. I've been in talks with the OP, And I am now comfortable enough with his level of knowledge to allow this thread to reopen.

Frankly, Lordi winning Eurovision was a disgrace. The Lithuanians should have won it. Simon Simon, As far as I was concerned, I thought Eurovision was just an excuse for Terry Wogan to knock a few back and risk his job yet again with some of the commentary he comes up with... I remember one line th...

Search. Search. Please, for the love of god, Search. The first two of your three questions can more then easily be worked out with a little browsing of the forum. And for fuel, methinks judging by the questions, we're looking at Propane to start with, not so much a matter of efficiency at this point...

Locked for a reason. If you want to be playing with these sorts of powerful formulations, you should already have a clue where to find them. I'm not comfortable with allowing this sort of information to be circulated without some more coming from you, ie, any prior experience with rocketry or such. ...

Re: re: Sorta crappy attempt at sugar/kno3 rocket, few quest

whats the difference with the fuse? 1. Fuses can't be stopped. Electrical ignition can be called off at the last microsecond, should a problem arise, which sods law says will happen sooner or later. 2. They are highly unreliable in burn time, enough to the point where no sane person would trust the...

Mmm, just a little bit funny.

However, I guess they don't expect anyone to be building a weapon that evolved from a bi-prop motor : oP

re: Legal??

You won't get shot, but in the UK, I'm almost positive we're not allowed to take part in such activities. From the UKRA rules, I seem to remeember that we're only allowed to make Bi-Prop engines, ie, hybrids or liquid fuels. We aren't allowed to mix solids into an explosive/propellant I think. Thoug...

Arman, Though this area is hardly my experteise, I must say that I've noticed some similarities between this and some of the rocket threads, mainly that it's going in circles. Trust me, I'm one of the friendliest guys here most of the time : oP, but I cant help but notice that people have already gi...

Thought it had died down, but it's come back with avengance. Once again, what the hell. I mean, seriously. If you need to ask what materiels are to be used in the construction of an Oxygen/Propane Bi-Propellant rocket, you need to stop and ask yourself if this is really a good idea. Granted, with mo...
