Re: German ER90 testing
I stuck a fuel line 2-3in up the back end of the ER90 on my berth day & got a extra 1 to 1.5lbs thrust.Water did nothing but vapourise well.Metho & Water together was no good ether.Kerosene worked.Bit of a afterburner effect.took about 800mls a minute to do it

Re: German ER90 testing
I finally filed each curve on the backing plate to get the .3mm reed valves to use the hole butterfly for bending then hack sawed 12 long slots & 12 short into the backing plate to allow faster reed movement, air into the chamber & less shock wave hammer at the beginning of each reed. And finally I tr...

Re: German ER90 testing
Put a washer behind the reed valve today to lesson the bending & therefor snapping reed valves.Worked but what a odd way it ran this time.Ran from 8LBs thrust up to 11lbs then it would go into overdrive dropping in revs & thrust ,about 2lbs.Would blow more unburnt flames out the tail pipe to.Sounded...

Re: German ER90 testing
Cut 12 15mls deep slots in the reed valve backing plate today to lesson the shock wave blast & help stop the 12-13 thal reeds snaping off & let air come in though the centre more. After 3L of fuel was used one reed napped off at the base.Everything looks still perfect otherwise.Must remenber I am usi...

Re: German ER90 testing
Ran the ER90 today & had another 13 thal reed snap at the base after about 60 seconds of running at 12 Lbs thrust.I put two 9 Thal reeds of the same size together next and ran this for three minutes at the same thrust but in the end they snapped to bits mostly at the tips.

German ER90 testing
Had some fun testing my ER90 last week.Took the Pulse Jet to Kukerin country car festival and while a V8 was doing a burn out started the ER90 up to get lots of people come over and want to know what it was.It only put out 9lbs thrust with the 10 & 13 thal reeds in so took out the 10 thal reed & lef...

Re: Fastest way to start a Bailey Sport Jet
I next got the smallest & thinest spark plug in my box & turned most of the thread off that one to.Put it into my ER90 Pulse Jet right behind the reed directly in line with the incoming fuel injected fuel.Put it about 8 o-clock and not at the base this time Starting on 97.5% Kerosine & 2.5% 2 Stroke...

Fastest way to start a Bailey Sport Jet
First.Put the small Bailey Spark Plug in a Lathe. Then turn off the metal thread so you only have enough for the brass washer & thin nut.The porsalin will now stick out heeps. Then put it at the very bottom of the Plane.100% Methanol only is needed.1.5mm main jet.7L Weed killer bottle for air.Gives 45...

Re: Stun Gun Starter
I think stun guns are useless unless used for Propane Gas.A cheep sparkler works very good but soon runs out of sparks.Model T car coils and 6 Volt batteries are OK.I use a 50,000Volt electronic coil sparking at over 20,0000 Times a second to start a Kerosine & Gasoline mix.I recomend using a stock ...

Personaly I think Valveless or Valved Pulsejets could if designed right could crack the speed of sound. Not much point though is there.

Re: Pulsejet Flight Video
All control line pulse jet flyers know about pressured fuel tanks off the combution chamber.N,A,S,S is the group on this subject. With no valve about 4psi is about it.I have read in Big Pulse jets 17psi is normal if a one way valve is used. For RC Planes this is not needed though.

Re: pulsejet combustion in microgravity
My guess is a Pulse Jet would work fine in a vacuum if desined for it.A stock Pulse jet runs off some air brought back from the outlet. If that is true that would have to change.A rocket engine works better in outter space so why not a properly decined pulse jet.
