Re: More free plans: 40 pound Thermojet

How are you estimating the thrust for your designs? Are you recycling the parts from the non working one? Any way to turn it into a linear engine? Think you might learn a lot how a design works in linear mode, and how it applies to the rear facing intake types. Plus the linear layout is really easy ...

Re: Just made a Advanced Focused Wave Engine cant keep it going

Nice build Bix.

Slip rolls are not good for small sizes, and can not roll 99% of pulsejet cones. If you buy one you will still have to roll cones by hand.

Re: Just made a Advanced Focused Wave Engine cant keep it going

Flattening the tip will help, and holding it in a constant position is a must, if it moves around before it starts it might not ever get to the point where it can stabilize and keep going.

Depends on how much it leaks, if you can patch the leaks it would help a lot I'm sure.

Technical difficulties out in the sticks

Hey Everyone if you need to contact me I will keep an eye on the forum pm box. My forum seems to have been phpbb attacked and can't fix it any time soon. The new shop is great for fabrication unfortunately it's difficult to run an online business without Internet Everything is basically going throug...

Re: first ever pulse jet not running

Hey everyone, unfortunately can't get Internet at the new shop so we've been stuck using an iPhone for calls and Internet

those dimensions may work somewhat with great difficulty

you can get the plans on our site still at beck-technologies.com/freeplans.HTML

good luck

I'd say about 17.25 lbs with short intake, less with long.

Re: Pulse-Jet Operating Frequency Variations

Yes it is harmonically driven, and I suspect it happens in all pulsejets, its just a matter of wether or not its on a scale that can be measured. Im not sure if your question is something that can be answered, even if you had perfectly controlled steady conditions, running the engine would destroy t...

Re: Non-continious fuel injection

I just made a post in the valved section on one of SR's threads, about natural frequency variation and modulation. Yes you could force the engine to run in a way that it does not like to some extent, the frequency of the engine actually changes along with the magnitude in a harmonic fashion all by i...

Re: Pulse-Jet Operating Frequency Variations

Statistically there wouldn't be that much variation over one second with normal running at a set throttle, but most engines have a pulsation magnitude frequency where the thrust may go from a relative minimum to relative maximum 10 times a second. Say like a 4.75 lb engine going from 4.5 lbs to 5 lb...

Re: Pulse-Jet Operating Frequency Variations

It varies by fuel, atmospheric temp, and air speed. In controlled experiments you wont see much variation, but otherwise you will see a +/- 5% shift in frequency depending on conditions. I never got around to releasing my pulsejet calc 2.0 which graphs the frequency range under a number of condition...

Somewhere on one of my hard drives I do, look around the forum here, pretty sure mike posted some of them a while back.

Expected aspects of the technology? Not trying to make a PDE are you?

Re: Non-continious fuel injection

While the end results are no doubt better than continuous injection, they make a lot of assumptions in that paper, and display things in a disingenuous way. Saying the thermal efficiency is increased by a factor of 7, along with a 30% margin of error doesnt tell you anything specific about the engin...

Re: Hello and questions

What fuel are you planning on running it on, if you run it on pure methanol sprayed in the intake, it will give you extremely cold dense fuel air charges without any need to cool the valve system. If you then add water injection in the chamber you could then get even more of a boost, but water injec...
