Am I reading you correctly when you say the comp inducer is ~104mm and the exducer is ~130mm, 64 Trim , thats not much "tip" on her , guess she's more of a lowish boost job Hey Racketman - ive checked again and it seems to be correct, which wheel do you want me to check now? A larger one with a sim...

Ill double check on Monday when im back for work. If this helps the turbo probably came off a high horse power engine, possibly explaining the low boost.

Can you tell me if the following is correct There might be a chemically etched part number on the shaft and wheel. From your pics the turbo looks like an HC5A, with a 3521034 shaft and wheel. Compressor wheel is 3523546. From the drawings the turbine wheel has an exducer diameter of 111.7, and an in...

Hey this is great, i was going to start exactly the same project as soon as i get the guy from Heward micro-jets jets to reply about the pheonix plans. I intended to scale up their plans around the turbo charger then build something similar. I was actually thinking about turning the front and back c...

Journal Bearings
Yeh, i understand what you are saying, i guess its a personal choice in the design/build stage. Once a decent engine has been achieved, i cant see why it wouldnt be at least equal in popularity for the amateur builder. Even if it is just confined to the test bench - at least there wont be many beari...

Full autocad plans
These plans are available free from a German University site. I think the plans look very similar to the KJ66, they appear to be concise and in their current format would be an asset to both beginners and regular builders alike. http://chronik.htl-steyr.ac.at/htlde/am/3proje/2002/gasturb2/acad.zip h...

Journal Bearings
I’m currently designing my axial GT and I’m seriously considering using Journal bearings. Does anybody have any experience in this field? With working for Cummins Turbo Technologies I see journal bearings used in all our turbos, these often achieve way over 100,000 rpm and last over a million miles ...

So sorry i have neglected the forum for soo long, i have been A) Restoring a 1972 Ford Cortina and B) Starting a new job at Cummins Turbo Technologies working on turbo chargers - as you can imagine, this is helping no end with regards to jet engine building - but mainly of the gas turbine vari...

cheers for the kind words. I feel this is one part of the pulse-jet development stage i can successfully handle, so im certainly going to be focusing purely on ceramic & composites for a while now. As mentioned the engine is in pieces which im happy about as it means i have no choice but to move on....
