Re: jet flight

Re: Which fuel produces the most thrust?
50% nitromethane and 50% propylene oxide will definately knock your socks off... Makes a huge increase in power on the stock pulsejets

Re: Help with a Tiger jet
Hi I would try another type of fuel the unleaded gas from the pump is very difficult to start with the little jets. The original gas they used is what we call in NZ White spirits or I think in the US coleman lighter fluid??? try this if you can?? Also the valves need to seal well. Try blowing down t...

Re: How much thrust?
Hi Guys for the atom jet I wouldnt even think about running a 8 thou reed valve. 6 thou would be thick enough and I would even think about 5thou.. All these materials are readily available. Just need a quick check online and you will find them. All my valves I made for the standard dyna/baily/jetbil...

Re: I´m looking for a BMS Sport Jet
Richard, Earl Bailey has been dead a few years now and the bailey sport jet has been out of pruduction for that long. A few engines were built by Steve Perkins out of bits for the family to sell and I believe these are all gone.. The only production sportjet engines for sale are the dynajet at a hor...

Re: How to Design Build and Test Pulse Jet Engine.
Mark on the valve of the glowstick I have a picture of it somewhere! Which I will try and find for you. Its one very complicated piece of work and Its definately not something we could whip up in the shed... Its sort of like reed valve from a Cox engine (same principle) but much more complicated.. R...

Re: Best Fuel
Phill the AMA will be changing to 20 nitro 80 methanol fuel next year. For the metering jets you will need to go up 6thou in size for pressure and suction motors .. We have been running this fuel for the last few years here in NZ with no problems
Hope this helps

Re: Etching of valves
Goto Bruce Simpsons web page and follow his article on etching valves in a salt bath. Really easy to do ( Ive made 40 this way ) and you can make what ever shape you desire... I made my salt bath so I could do 5 at once .... The dremel way is too much like hard work..

Re: our dynajet is not running..pls help!!!!
Hi welcome to the joys of pulsejets.. Firstly have you made a copy of the dynajet??? The best fuel to run at the moment would be a methanol based fuel with a additive like Nitro 20% nitro would be a good start. For methanol based fuels the meteringjet needs to have a 1.65mm hole and the flowjector n...

Re: Pulso-1
The older designs from Eastern europe used the individual petals due to the fact they could only get the spring steel in narrow strips. If they could of got the wider strips they would of made the full flower design of petals. Individual petals would/are very difficult to set up and make it in the t...

Re: Best Fuel
Michael, When using petrol as a fuel for a pulsejet the best is one with the lowest octane rating possible. The higher the octane the harder they are to start and give less power. Methanol based fuels work well but need a igniter to help them. We currently are running 80% methanol and 20% Nitro meth...

Re: Leaks on valved P J
To answer your question YES the pulsejet must seal to make it easy to start and run. Many say that its not important as the blast will shut the valve but that mean's you have to get a blast first. The best way to test the engine is to blow down the tailpipe ( if the engines small enough of course) a...
