Yes backward inlet type is also possible in CFD. Here is another CFD simulation of a thermojet engine with 4 inlets. Please follow below link to the video,

Re: Valveless pulsejet-computational fluid dynamics
This engine was made by me like 6 years back. Now I have simulated in CFD. Please follow below link for the video.

Re: Valveless pulsejet-computational fluid dynamics
Hi Ganesh, sounds like a pulsejet! A mic at the intake and exhaust would be interesting to see compared. I am particularly interested in the phase offset, is it 180 or 90? My knee-jerk is 180, but... It will tell us something about the average speed of sound in the duct. I would like to set up a mo...

Re: Valveless pulsejet-computational fluid dynamics
There are totally three sound files
Mic1- Sound received from impermeable surface (Wall)
Mic2- Sound received from 1feet distance away from outlet
Mic3- Sound received when mic placed above pulsejet
This took a while for me but its interesting. Please provide your suggestions.
Regards
Ganesh

Re: Valveless pulsejet-computational fluid dynamics
Aeroacoustics simulation using FW-H model. Listen to the sound file generated by placing the receiver inside the outlet tube.
Second try: Planning to create a far field and place the receiver 2m away from exhaust tube.

Ganesh

Re: Valveless pulsejet-computational fluid dynamics
Hey Ganesh, I too have not been around much, but think i should. Hope all is well with you too. Looks like fun. You might try low pressure ambient at the tail if your start condition is high at the intake. All these years, and the one thing i still want to show on a running motor is the alternating...

Valveless pulsejet-computational fluid dynamics
Hello everyone its been a long time, How are you all??? Hope everybody is fine. I would like to share some CFD simulated pulsejet engines which are quite interesting to understand the underlying physics. I will share some plot images and videos here for your reference. Currently I am using CFD to de...

Re: Turbocharger gas turbine
The previous simulation was steady state RANS analysis now i have done a unsteady LES (Large eddy simulation) analysis. This shows the actual burning of fuel-air in a combustor. Here is the link to the video.

Re: Turbocharger gas turbine
In previous simulation i specified the mass flow through each hole but still i had some doubts so today i tried the whole CC simulation where i specified the total mass flow at diffuser inlet and it automatically divides itself into respective zones. There were some small misalignment with my calcul...

Turbocharger gas turbine
Many have made these kind of projects, but the main purpose for me is to validate my theoretical, numerical and experimental results together. Hello everyone iam back again with an interesting project "Gas turbine made out of automobile turbocharger" (Holset HX35W). Did not use any online available...

Woooow thats severely cool. I really appreciate your effort and interest towards pulsejets. One day i would like to do an CFD analysis of this monster engine. It really looks amazing, all the best for your first run.

Turbocharger gas turbine
Hello everyone after a short gap iam back again to propulsion systems. This time i decided to convert my theoretical knowledge into practice so i decided to build a turbocharger gas turbine engine. Iam a beginner in practical building of gas turbines but to my knowledge i have calculated the dimensi...

Pulsejet engine simulation
For my cfd simulation i have used a 3 inches dia combustor with propane/air at stiochiometric ratio. Ansys fluent 14.0 is the tool used for simulating the results. Still refining the results. Here is the link to the simulated animation. http://youtu.be/cDayKA_KeF0 The above is an inviscid model but ...
