Re: Picked up a pair of Schwitzer S500:s today.

We ran it again today, now with the mail fuel system and afterburner running. We had it up to 1.2bar P2 but it will be run harder at the race, it is calculated to 52kg wet thrust and we weren´t near that thrust today even if it ran very hard. Re: Calculating top speed on ice...

The problem is solved, the coil was flooding from the 2mm restrictor. I flow tested a couple of injectors at different pressures and found that a 1.3mm restrictor would flow enough fuel for the engine (1250ml/min) but since I only found a 1.2mm drill it had to do for the tests. Re: Calculating top speed on ice...

Hi Anders, May try back flushing/purging the coil and see if there are little black flakes or particles developing within the coil. Joe Good idea Joe, if the gasoline has overheated inside the coil and blocked it off partially it may very well cause problems. Will try to blow it through backwards w...

Re: Calculating top speed on ice...

Eric: My every remaining piece of common sense screams when I start to think about pressurising a plastic gasoline tank with the engine... Viv: You might be on to something here, I will test flow the restrictor to see how much it flows before the next test. I owe you a beer if you are correc...

Re: Calculating top speed on ice...

I ran it again today with mixed results, it runs much harder with the new and larger injector but the fuel pressure bounces around so much that the engine flames out immediately after it starts. I blame the fuel pump for this so before the next test I will fit a larger fuel pump to see if that cures...

Re: Calculating top speed on ice...

The race is the last weekend this month, so there is not much time left for fuckups. I feel much less stressed now when I have a working engine, my friends on the other hand are starting to break a sweat... Hopefully you will find the coming videos in this thread even more interesting. :wi...

Re: Calculating top speed on ice...

Thanks guys! The yellow flames in the first clip can be from gasoline pooled up inside the engine during the previous injector testing, but I imagine that gasoline will burn more yellow than propane so a completely blue exhaust is probably not going to be seen. We will do another test on sunday so I...

Re: Calculating top speed on ice...

Here comes the video as promised, we ran it again today and even though the fuel system needs some tweaking it shows potential. T3 bygge 31.JPG I am amazed how easy the engine starts with the vapour coil, I use the propane preheater for a minute to get the coil temp up and then shut it off, hit the ...

A swedish wartime Argus V1 study

I thought I should repost my old translation of the Swedish military report of the crashed V1 missiles launched towards Sweden for performance studies, it might be of interest to someone. _________________________________________ The Swedish Military Argus V1 crash report from 1944 Robotflygplan.gif...

Re: Another pulsejet kick from Sweden

Hi erik! As I´ve said before, great work! I hope that everything goes smoothly with the project since you are following a very tight schedual, the race is only three weeks from now so there is not much room for trouble shooting... The drawings I sent erik were of an upgraded but never built version ...
