Re: Warm engine hard to start
One problem with Petrol in hot pipes is that the gas in it pushes all the air out then its Flooded like hot 4 stroke motorbikes go through. Its ignition mix is narrow to .A puddle of fuel inside it stops ignition to.

Re: Nitous Oxide use
How about That.Seems the Pulse Jet cant get enough Nos.After putting a drill bit .85 mm through the Nos jet I gave the er90 another go & got 20lbs thrust.Where will it end.

Re: German ER90 testing
Ran the Old ER90 at 12.5lbs today then 14.5lbs with Afterburner then 17lbs with a 30hp Sneeky Peek Nos kit Then 18.5lbs all up.I ran a new ER90 & found it better at 13.5 static.

Nitous Oxide use
I read how the V1 was given Nitrous Oxide 75 years ago so I tried it to on my er90 Pulse Jet.And it worked.Uses it fast mind you but how simple.Just turn on the No2 and then wind up the fuel pump to soot.It went from 13.25 to 16 lbs with ease.Only problem is as the no2 runs out the overrich Jet can ...

Boeing Pulse Jets
I noticed Boeing have put in some Patent rights to a new Pulse Jet that uses a pneumatic throat to do away with reed valves for good. They claim to be more powerful that any other reed less Pulse Jet.Perhaps more power than any reed valve set up.Perhaps Perfect for RC.Look up Pulse jet Ejector Thrust...

Re: Underwater Pulse Jet?
There is a underwater jet engine that uses steem to produce something a bit like water hammer thrust. Was invented in Australia & is being developed in England I think.I did pump water into my ER90 Pulse Jet tail pipe to see what effect it would have But nothing thrust wise changed.Only when I pumped...

Re: After Burner Use
I did try a basic afterburner on the HobbyKing but go no result.I tried a basic fuel injector to but could not get it to run so gave up for now.The er90 is just so much more fun in every way.Starts instant, uses only 350mls of Kero type fuels a minute Static at 12.5lbs thrust.Throttles back to 5lbs s...

Re: After Burner Use
I did try water,& a 50/50 mix of methanol water but I noticed no change.Kero did.All a afterburner needs is air & in one report they claim 66% air to run the pulse jet came from the tail pipe.A instant jump & impressive change in sound & flame going from 12-13 to 14.5lbs static was fun testing anywa...

Re: Hobby King Dyna jet
I have started my two with my own flowjector, spark plug & buzz box.Goes good .Just about 10mm shorter than my OS pulse jet from 1950.Almost as much thrust as it.Only the Red head has a different thread in it so the OS,Dyna jet & Bailey Flowjectors cant go straight in.Just run a Tap in so they can.ch...

After Burner Use
Hi Everyone.I just had to put this subject in as yesterday I gave it a try and to some degree it worked. As we all know,Pulse Jets can suck back air after each bang produced. How much and how far back it goes is debatable but any air not used is air to fuel a afterburner.I put 5 off 6inch SS 1.6mm pip...

Re: German ER90 testing
What a jump in performance & fun.I found a way to improve my injector so much & improve the backing plate shape to soot the .3mm reed valve that my last runs static went evan better 3Lbs to 13.25 LBs thrust on just Kero & 50 to 1 oil mix with everything still looking brand new after 2 letters were u...
