Schelkin spiral

Hi Bruno,

I wasn't thinking detonation, but I thought the use of the coil might help to accellerate the exhaust out the tailpipe and improve thrust.

Russian engineering

Bruno,

Your story reminds Me of the American engineers laughing at the vacuum tube electronics in the MIG fighter; until they realised that the vacuum tube electronics were used to provide EMP protection in the event of an atomic blast !

Shelkin coil

Has anyone tried adding a Shelkin coil to a pulsejet at the combustion chamber entrance to the tailpipe, and if so, how did it affect the performance of the pulsejet ?

Turbulators

Model airplane gliders have been using turbulator strips applied to the upper surface of the leading edge of the wing for many years. A thin nylon monofilament streached spanwise at the leading edge, spaced about 2 to 3 MM above the top surface has proven quite effective in improving lift. The " str...

Turbojet

A very ambitious project indeed !! For an axial flow turbojet, Your compressor should give about 22 Psig. with a resulting thrust of about 17 pounds per inch of tailpipe area, assuming a compression ratio of 1.2:1 per stage. These estimated values assume that Your compressor is properly designed. I ...

Balancewheel

In answer to Your questions: Do you know if the change in balance wheel spoke design came about at the same time? Do you know if there is a proper name for it? There is no apparent connection between the Incabloc bearing and the spiral spoked balancewheel. The balancewheel design predates the Incabl...
