Milisavljevic, the reason I offer is that I posses a 4" U with nothing to do! and I like the exhaust design of the engine made by Mr Hinote, the exhaust reminiscent of the "chinese" is nice and easy. Anyway, if you have nothing too lose, no obligations or comitments ... on either side, and want a bi...

Milisavljevic, if you want someone to test out another engine to your specifications ... im open.

Well, unless its a secret or something but im gathering the science your interested in is in the scaling more then the individual engine dimensions correct?.

Mark, your thinking of the Nitromethane / sodium hydroxide reaction to form ..... something (no one seems to know), not ammonium nitrate. The AN/NM reaction theory goes NH4NO3 + CH3NO2 --> NH4CH2NO2 + HNO3 with the products very strongly to the left so no reaction is visible from the mixing. Neither...

If you cant create enough vacuum, put it in a water tank and crack an explosive on top of it.. always wanted to try this. Though you would probably want in the least an underground thick cement tank and mould even for thin sheet. Heres an overview on explosive forming, your halfway there - http://ww...

I was going to make a standard tube Locky but seeing your lovely handiwork & knowing that not even that runs makes me wonder if I should give it a go at all. Yahh... dont be disheartened by that as ive made no serious attempt to start it conventionally.. I really should have tried that before going...

Its not "really" running, the permanent blower through 20mm tube wasnt enough to start it - http://www.pulse-jets.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=337

Patent 6658838 - Shaped Charge Engine

yeh, sorry. That first sentence of last paragraph gives the wrong idea, I wasnt aiming to increase the pressure before combustion, only the velocity of the exhaust, theoretically you can accelerate the gas x2 using the munroe effect. I'd pose a way of doing it but my feeble brain cant process whethe...

Exhaust acceleration via munroe effect

The munroe effect is well known phenomenon caused when colliding pressure waves are accelerated along a cavities axis, think of squeezing a bar of soap so it shoots from your hands far faster then the velocity of you contracting fingers. A better example can be seen from dropping a large round stone...

The poofter wont start. Heres a movie of what it does - http://geocities.com/roguemovies4/ It seems to pulse off the forced air through the check valve, kinda like a conventional valved pulsejet. The valve should only need an increase of about 1psi to close as that all the blower delivers. I feel li...

Sorry, never saw this but have nothing really to add, never touched the stuff! As you may of seen by now, I was banned for insulting a certain admins overly inflated ego, even though I have been there longer then anyone as I did start the forum many years ago. Its not of great concern for me, the fo...

Sugar is used as it can be cast, carbon (more accurately, charcoal) cant! Therefore a solid consistant grain is easy with sugar by casting, but pressing a large grain of blackpowder consistant enough is very hard, so it aint often used for larger rockets as they will explode from any irregularities....

I think we're thinking about two different things, I mean air injectors for starting the engine not constantly injecting it while its running.

Say you wanted to start the engine remotely, not by standing behind it ... how would you deliver the air?
