re: Advanced FWE plans right here in PDF

Thanks Eric, I've got some 1/16" copper pipe so I'll probably give it a go next week, Should be good fun. I might also try and take some thrust measurements when I add the water and see how much difference that makes, At the moment its showing just over 2lbs on my cude setup. Thanks again for taking...

re: RC project

That a great looking project vaulter.

It will be the perfect application for water injection, just pump it up from under the hull and blow it down the tailpipe.

re: Advanced FWE plans right here in PDF

I know this is a real old thread but what the hell, call it recycling. Eric I built an advanced FWE to your plans a couple of weeks ago and it runs great, really awesome. I just wondered if you could give me some pointers on how to get it running on liquid fuels, I was going to try something similar...

re: Aussie Lockwood Rocks!!!

I'm getting about 80lbs with the augmented intake, I tried testing it in a few positions but ended up with a seven inch gap between the narrow part of the augmenter and the end of the intake flare. The gap will probably depend on the size of your augmenter though, mine was 8.5" diameter and 14" long...

Could you describe your method of trying to start it, or post a short video clip.
That may give some clues.

re: where to place sparkplug and fuelinjector on lockwood

Johnny, What size pulsejet did you run with your regulator? I built a 55lb lockwood and only just about got it to self sustain at idle with a (10bar) regulator. Kid Jansen, The drilled fuel pipe you show in the latest picture should work okay, but if you poke it down the inlet you'll need a sturdy w...

re: where to place sparkplug and fuelinjector on lockwood

The link below shows the fuel tube design I used on my 55lb lockwood, It may not be 100% ideal but its simple and makes for easy starting (with propane). http://www.pulse-jets.com/phpbb2/download.php?id=1805 And just put the spark plug in the middle of the combustion chamber, If its too far forward ...

re: where to place sparkplug and fuelinjector on lockwood

Hi The position of the spark plug isn't really critical, middle of the combustion chamber seems most popular. Fuel injector should be a 'swizzle stick' type running right through the cc at the transition between the combuster wall and the inlet cone. The holes in the injector should blow fuel across...

re: Afterburning thrust augmenter?

The number is GB786232 & link to the patent, http://v3.espacenet.com/textdoc?DB=EPODOC&IDX=GB786232&F=0&QPN=GB786232 However most of the application^ just refers to the cowling around the pulsejet. Another Drawing on the same patent seems to show an internal baffle in the combustion chamber of the p...

Afterburning thrust augmenter?

I was looking through some old SNECMA patents and found reference to an afterburning thrust augmenter. Has anyone tried it? Quote from patent "...... it is possible to obtain a substantial increase in the performance, as regards thrust, by introducing additional fuel by means of an injector 16 in th...

re: Need fueling help

Hi,
If your blower is giving enough air to get loud bangs, it should be enough, It only takes one bang to get it started.
Your problem is most likely fuel, or lack of. What size gas bottle are you using?
Have you got a picture of your fuel setup?
