Could you post the dimension of the orifice and diameter of the jar that sustained on propane? I was curious how it compares to the methanol jars. Happy Whooooshing!

Re: Odd Metal jars

Hi all, very interesting stuff, can anyone tell me why snorkels are being used at all?, not a criticism just curious.

Are they better starters than a std jam jar pot or do they seem to run longer.

cheers

Re: Odd Metal jars

Fascinating stuff Joe, I have an internal annular ring in one of mine- the best runner it glows yellow hot when at full chuff and stays that way for long propane runs. I dont think propane quality is the problem its the delivery - incredibly sensitive both in terms of the amount delivered and the fl...

Re: Odd Metal jars

Nice one Mike, on one of mine i placed a washer around the intake hole with a recess or under cut around the face then just silconed it in place. this gave an annular slit around the intake. a small hole drilled into the void between the washer and the top was used to drip fuel into this space this ...

Re: Odd Metal jars

Hi all, just thought I'd add to the mix. I see some of you guys persevering to use liquid fuels, ive run pots on meths and veg oil amoungst others, but thought id ask if anyone has pursued gas fuel?, my longest run (20 mins plus) was on propane. There is a film of it running, including the set up. M...

Re: Is a lathe a good thing?

Yes, a lathe is a good thing , in fact the lathe (metal cutting) is a the foundation stone on which almost everything else we have is built on, with a lathe you can build everything else you could want including a bigger lathe. :D
(given the time obviously)

Annual JET FEST proposal

Following the meet at Severnside Firing range adjacent to the M4, it is suggested that if there was sufficient support for the idea we organise an annual event starting say august 2010 at this location. Due to its unique location there are few noise restrictions and loads of space in which to carry ...

However i do have one that runs ( or did run anyway, i havent run it for a while) for as long as you want it to, i have a 20 minute film of it running on propane, Graham has seen it if you want verification. Nick I never tried that, but I did wond...
