re: School Project-- GOT QUESTIONS on -- K-PT 07X --

"Snakeye", Cool, that the design is evaluated by others as well. =) I do not know which kind of pipes you are referring to. For me it was always way cheaper and easier to simply build the tubular and conical sections by hand. Therefore, could you please state the pipe specifications, like material, ...

re: First Design-mini linear

"Leo", I think it illustrates what is going on properly. Easily, you could imagine a transverse wave pulse, e.g. of a rope or something. Would it not look like about the same? Remember they did not try to present any interferring waves and resulting patterns. Rather ressembles a single over-pressure...

Does anyone know the correction formula or where it can be sourced? Something of your interest might be found here , especially in the fifth paragraph. And here , were several links are placed along the text development. Scroll down to the last paragraph that refers to "end correction", and downloa...

re: First Design-mini linear

I would pretty much support "El-Kablooey's" suggestion of flaring the ports. Which means, that flaring the inlet port should already be enough.
For instance, just use a hammer with a ball-shaped tip.

In any event, diameters or a complete sheet of dimensions would be best for any further advices.

That is just too bad, Anders!

Besides not having anything to add to the topic, I enjoyed following along.

Best of luck to you and the project!

The zipped version of the .wav file which includes both frequencies is above 4 megs. [...] Maybe cutting the whole file to some file of 5 to 10 sec lengths, e.g. with Audacity , would work. Of course, the interval may not be choosen randomly, but most representative for the run recorded. Doing so, ...

Re: Najm's Q.

Can I use straight pipe sections for the intake and combustion chamber for the K-PT 05? As far as it goes with the inlet and combustion chamber it should be no problem. Francisco Cooreman did use a straight tailpipe once for a K-PT 04a interpretation. You may want to check this topic though. Of cou...

re: APC news 13 August '06

Corrected length noted above, and zipped .wav file sent directly to Graham, so as not to clog-up this Forum. I would think that a short *.wav file would "clog-up" the forum much less than a picture of a U-bend with a burn-through hole. Of course, this may depend on the single perspective (-- releva...

re: Straight Chinese

Mike Everman's Kazoo series brought up a some motors of that combustion chamber size. And my earlier presented K-PT 05 duct(s) employed a combustion chamber of something less than 51 mm (2"), too. Besides those, I cannot remember engines of that size. Look here (for the K-PT 05) , or here (for the K...

Re: re: Copper pulsejet?

i was actually referring to joining polyethylene molecules, not actually making them. [...] Polyethylene molecules are macromolecules. Some kind of long "fibres", which are twisted and wund around one another. However, those fibres are only solely connected in common PE, which e.g. means thote besi...

re: K-PT 07c thrust fix -- K-PT 07X release

Thanks for the replies! --- Larry, While the basic principle is quite simple, there seem to be a lot of little things, which would sum up to some relatively large error. At least if not putting quite some effort and money in that see-saw design. So again, without having gone into detail, the trouble...

re: K-PT 07c thrust fix -- K-PT 07X release

Update. Having heavily improved my thrust stand, I re-measured TSFC of the K-PT 07X duct. Thrust was measured with a fish scale, with the spring being under pre-load. Please note the pictures attached, due they will tell you more than a lot of words could. The observed max. sustainable power level w...

what about in things like polyethylene? I guess they are heated to combine them? MONOmers are chemically reacted to create POLYmers. Hence POLYethylene.
