re: Favorite aircraft
Howdy everyone- Visited the www.xcor.com website yesterday and discovered that they are seriously considering recreating the Me-163 Komet. Composite and aluminum, with retractable gear and their own rocket power. Gad! Would this be Fun or what? When I call up their website on the search bar, and sea...

re: Liguid Fueled Rockets
Howdy Greg- A rocket fueled with nitric acid? Well, I can tell you that the Nike Ajax was fueled with red fuming nitric acid as oxidizer, and one of the analine family as fuel. Fuelling the bird is a bit of a pucker. "Moon suits" are worn by the crew which have hoses coming from the back to keep the...

re: RG Rhodes's Ecrevisse
Howdy guys- Well, here's the latest- Bill Hinote and Graham Wilson have plugged the data from the dwg into their UFlow software and the bottom line is that it don't look good. The fancy intake doesn't work, and Graham designed a new set-up with straight tube and rolled edge which the computer likes ...

Howdy Mark-
Say, on your post above, labeled "assorted ramjets", middle pic,
is that a linear ramjet? Looks neat.

re: RG Rhodes's Ecrevisse
Howdy Mike- Yeah I noticed the same thing. I you run the tip of the R'jector around the inner wall of the intake, there is one spot it likes the best. Graham just wrote me with some hard-number callouts for a revision to the intake snout, which I want to try. But the "real" engine is nearing complet...

re: FWE experimental intake configurations!
So if we vary the bore dia of the ring tube, the number and dia of the holes, and the number of fuel input points on the ring, we could acheive x mass flow at x pressure. That sounds O.K., but I keep staring at the deflector or skirt shown on Reynst's dwg Bruno posted above. The more I look at it, t...

re: FWE experimental intake configurations!
Howdy, Bruno- I guess what I'm getting at is that the crossectional area of the fueling port in a 75 mm engine can or is just tiny. Maybe I'm looking at this all wrong. Do you think a ring with holes with the gas wafting gently out to be picked up by the incoming air would work? I keep fretting abou...

re: FWE experimental intake configurations!
Howdy everyone- Steve B., as you may have read, rolled up two beautiful 75mm FWE cc's, retaining Larry's cone angle, and sent them off to me, the intent being to try this cc geometry as a Reynst. The real key to the Reynst system would appear to be fuelling, but I just took all the sketches and dwgs...

re: RG Rhodes's Ecrevisse
O.K.- latest round First, a restart with original 1/4" R'jector, cold, and it resumed yelping and surging as before. Next, I placed a piece of fairly heavy-walled tube into the intake per Graham's suggestion, to reduce intake dia. This resulted in lower freq and less energetic yelps, but with more a...
