Re: gas turbine as heater system for a hall
Hi The inducer is that part of the compressor wheel where the air goes in , the exducer is where the air exits the comp wheel . A 2" INducer according to Jetspecs will produce an engine giving a bit over 20 lbs of thrust ...............................I helped in the construction of Jetspecs, its no...

Re: gas turbine as heater system for a hall
Hi I'd be looking at using something with a 2"-50mm inducer rather than the smaller size , this will allow some buffer for HX losses etc etc .... you'll also be able to use one of the cheaper turbos off Ebay that don't cope well with high rpm/pressure ratios or temperatures, but will/should be OK if...

Re: gas turbine as heater system for a hall
Hi Yeh , you need to run a TOT of ~400 deg C just to get the engine to operate , that requires an fuel/air ratio of ~0.01 :1 ( 100 :1 A/F) , you're looking at a fuel burn rate of 6 LPH or 10.5 lbs/hr , allowing for less than perfect combustion you'll need ~1,000 lbs of air per hour or ~16 lbs/min , ...

Hi
You'll need a turbo with a 1.5 - 2 inch diameter compressor inducer
Cheers

Re: Oil Pump Help Needed!
Hi Don't get the cheaper one , its seals will be affected by the lube , its designed for "water" , get the one with buna seals , that is a reasonable price . Relief valves are generally a spring over a moving "plug" that uncovers the dump/drain when pressure exceeds the setting http://www.pyronics.c...

Re: Oil Pump Help Needed!
Hi Shurflo pump , Model 8000- 643-236 with buna seals , you will need to have some sort of pressure relief valve to vent excess flow back to the oil tank unless you incorperate some sort of accumulator in the lube system so that the inbuilt electrical pressure switch can be used .......................

Re: Turbo jet plans
Hi Mike
Yeh , we need to do a bit of maths in the beginning to see if we're in the ballpark with a design and don't have a major mismatch of components, thankfully theres now plenty of info available to do that
Cheers

Re: Turbo jet plans
Hi Our DIY engines make acceptable thrust , the one in my bike video produced ~110 lbs of thrust as a pure jet , but with a freepower turbine downstream , I used a third stage Allison C20 heli engine turbine wheel , produced 115 rear wheel horsepower on the dyno . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cpln...

Re: Turbo jet plans
Hi Heres a Link to my bikes construction http://www.ivcity.com/john/index.html , when a freepower turbine is used downstream of the gas producer there isn't a need for a clutch and/or multi speed gearbox as the freepower wheel acts as a torque convertor with gases as the driving "fluid" . Thread bui...
