Re: Lady Anne variation.

The open pipe combustion locus is bracketed by 22 and 25% of the unfolded length. Graham, I'm curious what your locus estimate is in Nudis; for your reference, converted to closed pipe percentages that would make sense to you, I estimate your zero crossing point as bracketed by 13 and 16% of the cl...

Re: Lady Anne variation.

Dear Mike. James has sent me some *.MOV files of this motor running. They are shot at 300 and 600FPS!! The tailpipe shot is awesome; I think we can see individual combustion events!! We also have induction flames and another of the tailpipe emptying a jug of water. Is there anyway we can get them up...

Re: Lady Anne variation.

Dear M.
I too have not used this data for the same reasons.
As for the rest of you I don't yet want to know the operating frequency!!!
M. When you are done I'll send you the Original sound track and we'll see.

Best Regards
Graham.

Regards,
Dear Luc.
James tells me that it needs a lot of help to get started.
This was not unexpected. A change in starting technique may help; we'll do some test and see.

Re: Lady Anne variation.

Dear M. That's Interesting, thanks. I use two criteria to estimate eCCID. The first is exactly the same as yours. The second is given by NUDiS. It is the CCID at the Zero velocity location in the CC during a non-combustion rebound. I measure as the pressure in the CC is rising above ambient and Cold...

Re: Lady Anne variation.

Dear M. During my work with FWE style combustors I've come to the idea (conclusion is too strong) that the Effective CC dia is the one to use. I'm quite happy for you not to agree with me on this subject but would like to see the data you generate with a CC dia of 50mm (With this configuration of FW...

Not a bad little motor, A little below 5 Lbs Thrust (2.25Kgf = 22.065 N = 4.96 Lbsf) A comment from James D. who built this motor, tested it and added some refinements of his own. " I think you're in for a treat, this is one hard charging pulsejet ." For more information see: http://www.pulse-jets.c...

Re: Lady Anne variation.

Not having a sound file of the running engine will be interesting: the model will output the fundamental as well as other acoustic data; we can compare "notes". Should be interesting... Ha! Should I post it here? Cheers! M. Dear M. Yes, please post the data here Until James sends me the vide...

Re: Lady Anne variation.

Hi Mike.
My pleasure. I'll send you the Dims as soon as I can.
I'm reasonably sure a little more can be had, perhaps another half pound without major changes!

Best Regards
Graham.

Re: Mike's Build Log

Hope she's a cracker! I hope so, too! Actually, the overall length is 470 mm (18.50 in.) - the same as the Tiger Jet OS, the Dyna Jet's smaller cousin. In difference to the Tiger Jet's 0.8 kg (1.75 lbf) thrust , the superchine that I've designed for Mike is expected to top out at 2.25 kg (4.95 lbf)...
