Re: Mike's Build Log

Dear Mike.
That injector looks nice!
It reminds me of something I saw once for wok cooking.
I have this strange vision of you looking round the workshop "Now what can I use as an injector?"

Regards
Graham.

Re: heat out put of valveless pulsejets??????

The Heat Output = Heat input - The Work done. Never mistake Heat for Temperature. Here's an old one - Coming in from a cold day, what would you rather have warm you up, a match or a hot bath? The flame of a match is at a higher temperature. The hot bath will transfer more heat to you.- I'm sure you ...

Re: Lady Anne variation.

Dear Mike.
18.6 N/L though not close to the 33N/L of the smaller motor it's still no slouch.

Re: Lady Anne variation.

Dear M. The Constraints imposed by this challenge are infuriating. It is a relatively simple matter to increase trust by increasing volume but this is a trade off that offers no improvement to this measure of efficiency. It is of no help seeing other designs that by the alternative measures of effic...

Re: Marconnet Style

Dear Jutte.
Have you considered that your motor may be firing every other cycle? I only know of one other motor type that is said to run like this.
I've followed this motor with great interest.

Re: Lady Anne variation.

Dear M.
"provocative" Yes but I hope not offensive!

Thank you.
How do S1 and S1 'prime' differ in your report?
I recall that 'QD and RD type ducts' refer to two of your earlier designs is that correct?

Re: Lady Anne variation.

Dear M. At some stage in this prolonged discussion you mention replacing the Divergent/Convergent section in the middle of the pipe with an ordinary taper. My laziness precludes me from finding your exact words. I know I ran the tests in the early modelling development of this motor but cannot find ...

Dear Eric.
Expand the fuel Gently or Rapidly, similar to how a fridge works, before adding the heat?

Re: Supersonic Radial injection

Dear Eric. Have you tried a concave section to the splash plate? Experiments with subsonic fuel flow and a concave plate pressed all the right buttons for me; very good separation from the cone, a neat small film (or sheet), early break-up and small partial size. You would have thought it would work...

Good morning.
This video clip was shot at 600FPS and looks at the tailpipe of the motor when running at full power. No sound. Enjoy!!!

Re: Lady Anne variation.

What I'm really after is how good a prediction we can make about the correct fueling point. (I realize that there's a lot more to this than meets the eye, because of turbulence effects, mixing path length, etc., etc. of course, but I'm most interested in what we can predict with one-dimensional ana...
