re: Sheet metal rolling tool

Luc; No it’s not carpet. I took the proper precautions and out down a towel before laying out my Hinote Slip Roller for it's first photo shoot. Cleaned it up a bit with paper towels as well. No reason to get grief at the start of the project, better to do it at the end... Bill; We never doubted yo...

re: Sheet metal rolling tool

Today I built my first Hinote Slip Roller. It uses a 16" piece of 1" pipe with the base being made from two welded pieces of angle iron. The maximum usable length is about 14". As with Martin's version, it will be clamped in a vice during use. The only slight functional difference is that I left the...

re: American West Coast Pulsejet Meet, April 30

Bill: I must confess that most of what I know about California’s geography and wine could fit into a single sentence. However, I am willing to learn and welcome both conversation and liquid enlightenment. Just bare in mind that I typically have about one drink a month and more than a few glasses w...

re: American West Coast Pulsejet Meet, April 30

Gentleman, our time together will be all too brief and I personally want to gain as much knowledge from the event and the participants as possible. Assuming that we share similar goals, I propose that we start to do some more detailed planning for the PJ Meet on April 30th. Perhaps taking an invento...

Viv's aim

Scoring would appear to be easy with Viv's new record. EG: - Four Fast Flying Foul, Four Shots = Four Dead Ducks - One Slow moving Dave, One Shot = One Dead Dave! Not exactly the kind of odds I was looking for. I think I liked Viv better when he lived in England where there were no guns and the most...

re: American West Coast Pulsejet Meet, April 30

Rossco I just did my first application for a pass port a couple of months ago and it was easier than I thought. In the US you just go to the US Post Office to pick up the forms, get a picture taken at a place does Pass Port photos, provide copies of your birth certificate, etc, pay some cash, sign y...

re: My G8-2-20

Patrick Good to hear from you! It has been a long since we last talked or typed. 3000Km on your cycle this winter! There was a time when I too would go out and scrape my seat before riding off to work, but that was a very long time ago. Now I just settle for scraping my driveway then driving to work...

re: American West Coast Pulsejet Meet, April 30

MK Please let me know your flight information. If it is sometime near when Bruno plans to arrive at LAX I may be able to pick you both up. If it works out we should be able to save Mike 4 hours on the road and may reach the test site earlier. At present it is my intention to be at LAX somewhere betw...

This is a picture of my mailbox this morning.
Just one more reason to go to California where there is sun, flame, noise and heat.

That is some very nice workmanship.
And what a bonus, it runs!
It will be especially interesting to see your new thrust measurements.

Bill
Using your $10 slip roller method will leave a lot more cash around for engine parts. By all means, please post all the details and recommendations you have. Pictures and step by step instructions on how to build and use the tool would also be nice.

re: American West Coast Pulsejet Meet

Mike What would be the closest commercial airport to where you plan to meet? Sometimes it is cheaper to fly to the west coast than it is to fly half way across NY state. Just let me know where and approximately when and I will see what rates are out there. Besides it would be nice to see the sun whi...
