Any additional information you can find / provide on this design would be greatly appreciated, especially if someone has one running.

Valveless Pulsejet, 100% Effective?

What you are looking at is definately a reconfigured pressure jet. For comparison I suggest you go to the Pressure Jet forum and check out the recent postings. Just as with pulse jets, these engines are not without their challenges.

Want to see a reconfigured Pressure jet?

Guys
If you want to see a reconfigured pressure jet, go to the Valveless Pulse Jet forum and check out the posting under "Valveless Pulsejet, 100% Effective?" It looks like someone simply took a g8-2 and straightened it out...

Iowa State Report

Viv, files were sent to both email addresses. When sent together to the first address they kicked back. Resent in two parts to first address, then together to your second address. If anyone else wants the reports emailed directly, just let me know. It will be late tonight or early tomorrow, but I wi...

Unable to upload the Iowa State report on the G8-2-130R

HELP. I'VE FALLEN AND I CAN'T GET UPLOAD! Yes the small file with the nozzle went up easily enough, but every attempt to upload the entire report gives me the following error: " Upload Error: Could not upload Attachment to ./files/part1.pdf." According to the info page on allowable file types and si...

Scan of G8-2-130R Nozzle from plans

OK guys. I have never posted to the forum before so I will start with the smallest file first. Viv, if all goes well you should get a slightly crooked copy of the nozzle from my set of plans. If I scanned the forum correctly Luc should be able to supply you with much better info from his CD. I will ...

Iowa State report

PS to prior post:

Viv, the Iowa State is not up on line. The only reference I could find was:

http://www.eng.iastate.edu/newsletter/fy01/rag0106.html

It took me a few weeks (part time) to track down someone who could make a photocopy and mail it to me.

130R Power failure / Iowa State study on G8-2-130R / etc

Guys Good points on the speed of fuel delivery and good questions on air input. I should be able to scan both the the Iowa State report and the nozzle today. Unfortunately, I can only scan portions of the plans as they are life size blueprints (EG: 3x4 or 5 feet) and our scanner is not. It will be l...

130R Power failure / Iowa State study on G8-2-130R / etc...

Guys Three things: Thing 1: Since we are talking about a device that is sonically tuned what are the side effects of trying to push a stream of fuel and possibly air through it faster than the speed of sound? Thing 2: Some time ago I was able to get my hands on a copy of a study done at Iowa Univers...

130R power failure

Luc and Viv The realm of DeLavel nozzle design and CFD programs is over my head. My only suggestions at this point are: 1. If one new nozzle is good, might two be better? One smaller than the existing nozzle and one larger. (Actually, I was thinking larger.) 2. Although I do not have the FFT softwar...

130R power failure

Luc and Viv Before moving to a new nozzle design, or a piston pump, how about enlarging the exit for the existing nozzle? With the temperature figures quoted, the fact that changing the metering disk did not change the thrust output and the belief that pressure at the nozzle is roughly equal to that...

Fuel delivery issues

Viv, Bruno and others: The first valveless engine I fell in love with was E. G.'s Pressue Jet. While it was an interesting piece of technology, few appear to live up to the advertised thrust levels. All that said, has anyone tried to apply the fuel delivery concepts used in the pressure jet to a pul...

Fuel delivery issues

Viv I can see that back pressure and resonance in the fuel system can be real problems, but can they also be harnessed. One of the issues with Pulse Jets appears to be high fuel consumption. Some have suggested this is partially because the fuel flow of something like propane is constant and not tim...

Re: 130R power failure

Luc
Thank you for providing more information on the sizes of metering disks you tried. Can you do the same for the outlet size and other dimensions of the fuel injection nozzle?
Dave
PS: Clarification on where you measured the fuel pressure would also be greatly appreciated.

Valveless section of website now obsolete?

Bruno From all that I can see, writing about pulse jets is like buying computer equipment. With computers: no matter how long you wait, as soon as you place the order the equipment will be outdated minutes later and you could have bought it somewhere else for less. With pulse jets: no matter when yo...
