Re: Odds and ends

Hey, I was watching the budweiser snorkeler, and it runs well! Years ago I was trying meth soaked disks of fabric in the bottom to try and eliminate slosh wierdness. What do you think of a disk of sponge, again soaked, kind of acting like a wick? In other news, I did a jamjar lid out of silicone she...

The crucible looks great! Did you get a quantity quote? I think it is a must-have!

Re: Odds and ends

Ha! Loving it, Mark. Honestly, at this rate, you will in fact try Everything.

Reminds me of when my wife was on bedrest for a month. At one point, she pushed here laptop away and said, "I have officially seen the entire internet!"

Re: Annular M20

Very nice build, Joost! You can ignore my youtube request for pics, obviously. should have checked here first. The intake exhaust impinging on the tail cone can't be good, either. I've made a crappy one and so did Bill Hinote. I so far have never seen a good performing annular, but it's so compellin...

Re: Mike's Build Log

I asked Axel Borg (amazingdiyprojects.com) about the fueling on his pulsejet rocket, and got this interesting reply: Hi Mike, and thanks for hosting such a great forum. Well, the fuel system challenge was really one of the most joyful and cumbersome difficulties to overcome. Since the overall struct...

Re: Odds and ends

How about on the bud bottle, consider the chamber to be the bottom 6.5 inches, and submerge a 6.5" snorkel down to the shoulder? Take the neck out of the equation. Then play with snorkel diameter. I would try that if I weren't 2,900 miles from home. I think the chamber is a good aspect ratio and the...

Re: Pulse jet rocket, first flight (ever?)

Hi Axel, are you out there? Looking to find out if you can give us some details about the pulsejet rocket. I just rediscovered your composite jet and rocket stuff again, and wonder if it's fueled by a can of WD-40? If so, brilliant, man! All these years gone, can you tell us more about the fueling c...

Re: Mike's Build Log

Huh, I've not seen those can tops before. I've been thinking a lot about just the top end, that is held with the jam jar ring. Seals really well, like water tight as you can see in the video. I can iterate a lot of variations on jam jar top ends that way, without making the whole vessel. I just want...

Great! I'll redesign on my trip for a full jacket, including water cooling of the "vortexifier".
