Weed Burner

The weedburner hardware is great stuff. That's what I like, cheap and simple to prototype. Another "cheap and simple" is to use a weed sprayer for pressurized liquid fuel flow. I'm about to try that out, after I figure out how not to end up like a toasted marshmallow. Sorry for the lack of details o...

never mind

Never Mind! it isn't the fuel flow that is choking my engine, it's the intake dimensions.

Propane valving question.

Hey guys, I finally have something that works (my mystery design, somewhat related to a Gluey). But it is only putting out poop for thrust, which can be due to one of three reasons: 1) Starved for air (solution, bigger pipes or flanges) 2) Starved for fuel (that's my question about propane valving) ...

This design would actually work, but you should note that the exact positionof the intake in the "coanda" or "venturi" will make a difference becase of reflection effects.

Hey, I'd be very interested is seeing the code. I've been writing a bunch of stuff in java, in the next couple of months it should get to the point of usability. I wouldn't mind sharing code with everyone.

Re: Dukast 2500B

Interestingly, nobody has suggested castable refractory, which is readily available for $35 a bag (55 lbs.) down in Ottawa. I'm eventually going to make a cupola furnace or an iron forge or both sometime this winter. The stuff I got is good to 2500 deg F, but the same company also makes Dukast 2800...

Anyone have any analysis on flow through bent pipes as relates to straight? Google came up dry out to the 6th page or so. Mike, I e-mailed you some stuff that I have. Not much, but it should help. As for bends being problematic, please look at this Russian 'trombone'. Remember that in Russia, they ...

Bruno says - "No velocity. No velocity head"

That isn't true Bruno. In fluid flow there are a couple types of "head": Velocity, PRESSURE, enthalpic, and gravitational. A momentarily stagnated adiabatic flow still has at least a pressure head - which translates back into a velocity head.
