Nighttime Hijinx

Tried the drum again, but with a few ounces of stale chainsaw fuel from last year. I didn't put the can over the fire like I said I would because the idea sort of scared me, and it was hard to build a decent fire with all those bricks taking up room. I think the hole in the top is too small because ...

Hadn't Really Thought About It

"I'm not understanding how you intend to limit the travel on opening, and for that matter, keep sharp bends from occurring." Hadn't really thought of either of those two things. I still have about 35" of stainless shim left and I just got a 4 x 8 of 16 ga. mild steel, so I'm just gonna work things o...

Reynst Drum

This old steel drum is 34" tall and 23" across. I burned a 3" wide hole in the centre of the bottom with my torch and tried to get a little pile of burning pine to pulse, but with no luck. I upturned the drum and poured a few ounces of methanol onto the underside of the top. I put it back over the f...

Just To Let You All Know

Just to let you all know, I find this forum to be a vast improvement over the other one, and because of this, I will not be posting on the old one ever again. It's taken a lot of discpiline so far, but I can do it. It is quite fortuitous that Kenneth has created this new forum just in time for pulse...

Opinions Please

Each losenge comprises two individual reeds. The reeds are about 3cm long and 2 cm wide. Do you suppose these will be too big? I think I'm going to build this thing this afternoon, so I hope I get some replies before its too late!

Improved Tundra-Jet Valve Array

With the temperatures getting lower, pulsejet season has finally arrived here in the scenic Bonnechere Valley. I just finished doing the 'first draft' computer-generated layouts of the Tundra-Jet Losenge Valve system. These JPEGs are full-scale so you can print them off and make your own, although b...

Maggie Muggs

Maggie Muggs looks great, Larry. The JB Weld fillet looks very smooth. When do you plan on testing her?

Great New Forum!

Kenneth, this looks great! :D Very sophisticated and presentable, and it is packed with extra features. To honour this auspicious moment in Forum history, I have abandoned my silly nickname and will now post all messages using the name my parents gave me. Here is a pic of the dog I got two weeks ago:
