Re: PREDATOR - valveless PDE build blog
Hi Zono. Ok That's all good, for the Mosfets you can try a standard opto-isolator, that will keep your logic devices safe on one side and you can simply power the other side with what ever gate voltage you want. Pendulum thrust stands are a good choice but watch how you read it and calculate your re...

Re: Technical help required
Hi Farhad Just a thought but if you have any pictures of your engine you could upload to the site that would help people greatly in diagnosing your problems, a drawing too of your dimensions would be nice as well. While your doing that a quick question, Are you sure there are no air leaks in your we...

Re: homemade jet bathtub that was powered by a BBQ propane tank
Hi Doug I have played with the other fuels but its another story I wont share here for obvious reasons ;-) I am surprised in way they want liquid fuels for safety reasons as at least gas wont form an oil slick ;-) oh well... just make sure all the lines are good and tight and cant spring a leak unde...

Re: homemade jet bathtub that was powered by a BBQ propane tank
Hi Doug I think I would still go with plain old pump gas if I could, do you recall were you came across the high octane making a difference and the circumstances it was run under? we do know that ethanol mix's tend to mess with pump seals and probably alters the performance, downwards or upwards? no...

Re: Jay Leno's garage, the Chrysler turbine car
Hi Doug Yes he has developed his passion in to some thing notable and rather fun at the same time, it must be a full time job servicing the damn things and trying to work out which one to drive next ;-) I thought he did a nice job though on the turbine cars, I always thought as a kid we would have t...

Jay Leno's garage, the Chrysler turbine car
Jay Leno has a nice feature on the Chrysler turbine cars of the early sixties, a few nice videos and one at least 25 minutes long, very interesting and well produced.

Hi Doug
That's a monster your building there what did the prototype run like? any pics, are your clamps holding the exhaust pipes able to slide due to heat expansion?
Oh and ordinary pump gas will be fine no need or high octane any thing on a pulse jet

Re: "Jet" pack
Hi Metiz
As a long time biker I have crashed at a variety of speeds, I can only assume doing it in a vertical orientation is going to hurt just as much or if not more
Any way isn't a half scale RC model for pussies too? have it full scale and write your own page in history

Re: "Jet" pack
Ha! too funny Metiz we have all written a post and then forgot the press send ;-) Its six of one and half a dozen of the other basically, if you build a pack capable of getting off the ground you are then most likely yo pile it back in to the ground at high speed, so do you design the flight control...

Re: "Jet" pack
Hi Metiz Yes I know that and I know why too ;-) Why is adding some Gyros not a flight control system the same as I mentioned? fly-by-wire is pretty generic for flight control systems now as its implicit to the application, ie its not simply the replacement of physical links to control surfaces by el...

Re: "Jet" pack
If you build your jetpack in such a way that the pilot is the centre of gravity then I see no real stability issues that can't be easily overcome. So how about that money  Hi Metiz I don't see the pilots center of gravity as the only stabilizing influence needed when it comes to flying saf...
