Hi Forrest

I can only imagine its a cooker in California or places like it, certainly a air condition unit would be a challenge to fit

Re: Odds and ends

My first thought on seeing that was "Wimshurst machine" but then I noticed the crank and thought WTF a reciprocating Wimshurst machine :-) Very interesting find that, I enjoyed looking it up and realizing it was capacitive commutation, here are a few links for those interested in further reading Ben...

Re: The other BD5

Yes I think the Swedish one with the pop up stabilizers is the better solution for peace of mind, I would still have that terrible urge to put my feet down every time I stopped though ;-)

Re: stack flow or flu effect ramjet

Drag, turbulence, thermodynamics, these are just some of the things that get in the way of what you want to do, consider for a moment that a Ram jet is an energy exchange device, you are swapping the speed of your incoming flow for pressure then adding heat to it, and then expanding it out through a...

The other BD5

Your probably familiar with the small BD5 micro jet airframe as it has appeared on here a few times (I have posted some pictures from Bagotville airshow previously) but I was surprised to see a motorcycle variant appear on one of my favorite motorcycle web sites. The bike is called a Bede BD-200 Lit...

Re: simple Ignition Module

Remember you want an ignition that won't kill you if you should accidentally become part of the high voltage system. Pulsejets are very distracting and it only takes "one time" to forget your concentration with a lethal voltage as mentioned in this strobe article. "Since the circuit operates at gre...

Hi Zono

Keep it simple and go for the transistor ones as it will be easier for you to interface than the triac versions (better for high power operation in PSU)

Re: PREDATOR - valveless PDE build blog

@metiz: I think 1...2 Hz. Filling is the bottleneck. @Viv: thanks, opto-coupling is expensive, but you are right! Best for safety. zono Hi Zono Sorry expensive? are talking about the same thing, should be cheap as chips. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opto-isolator http://www.electronicrepairguide.co...
