Re: Please put your "I am new and need help" question here.

Yes, D is the CC dia. This is cleaned up from the one in Kentfield's paper UAV 1998_3879.pdf which is in the essential reading. Scaling down may or may not work, start with these lengths for sure. A couple of things: You need a hot fuel, hydrogen or acetylene for this co2 size, so be ultra careful ...

Re: Newbie valves - please be gentle!

Thanks Grim thats awesome! :D I Might actually be able to make a valved pulsejet now lol, I found some steel ducting reducers, so if I find an end cap for those I can just put holes in it and make some valves from the steel :) Are the smaller ones harder to start, I found some ducted that goes from ...

Re: Please put your "I am new and need help" question here.

Just had another look though some of the papers I have downloaded and found this: http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l49/m1tch_2006/planforpulsejet.jpg Would this be about right? I have created an Excel spreadsheet to caluclate all the values if you just plug in the diameter of the combustion chamber...

Re: Please put your "I am new and need help" question here.

Hi there, thought I would ask my question in here lol I am in the UK and need to try and find the plumbing parts needed for the 'ugly stick' pulse jet, I can't seem to be able to find those HUGE pipe reducers, can anyone help me out? I don't really wanna buy them in the states and ship them over lo...

Re: Really basic capped PJ

Ah so this design is more of a 'good idea on paper and not in practice' kind of engine, due to the inability to maintain the intake size due to the added heat? I managed to find a few off the shelf parts made in mild steel, but I will try another design - perhaps the no weld ugly stick design, but w...

Really basic capped PJ

Hi again, just saw this design on this site: http://www.pulse-jets.com/valveless/valvelesspulsejet_files/image038.jpg I have seen a lot of designs with the usual intakes pointing backwards, and the U shaped ones, but I don't see many simple capped ones, is there any reason for this? An upgrade to th...

Twin exhaust pipe?

Hi everyone, im just batting some ideas around to see if anyone has tried it/discount it lol I have seen loads of plans with a single tail pipe going from the combustion chamber back, I was just wondering if anyone had tried to use a Y piece to split the tailpipe in 2, this would mean that you could...
