Re: Two stroke diesel, turbo compound engines

Viv, Is that a valved 2-stroke, or valveless  (I mean of courese: with ports) or an opposed piston? I've been looking for smaller 2-stroke diesels, but they are hard to find in Holland. I found and bought though a single cilinder, with ports, air cooled, 500cc. Will be used for experients! Fedde

So, in fact, create a higher pressure envirement for the PJ? Nice!

But no more TnT :(

Re: Two stroke diesel, turbo compound engines

Viv,

Hehe, no, no, no. You still haven't got a clue where I wanna go, makes this one an exiting thread.

I'm a bit drunk now so I will not post to much now, but I will give you a hint: Heat pump.
If you now understand where I wanno go: don't tell the others and keep this thread exiting :D

Totally infected!

I remember when I was a kid my mother send me to play with another kid who was ill from one of the children’s diseases. Why? Because for a couple of times I was affected by this disease but I didn’t really get ill. So she send me there to get really ill to get it over with. The same thing I did to m...

Re: Turbines driven by pulse jets

And the killer question is how did 50% of the combustion products leave our simple model with 2 nozzles? Uhhm, through the turbine? From that you can work out how much of the engines total combustion pressure will "ever" be available to do work in the turbo of this simple model. Uhhm, 50%? So 50% w...

Re: Two stroke diesel, turbo compound engines

Viv, If you pop back to the start of this thread and look at the Wright engine you will see this type of energy recovery from exhaust gas being used, and very succesfully too, check the output figures for this engine as it had a notable history in use. You’re right. :) Looking at both cases I think ...

Re: Turbines driven by pulse jets

Viv, Haha, we are both using turbo's as nozzles/restrictors, see the (your) thread mentioned above. Back to this thread: Also with the "spinning nozzle" we are back here: You got it right for the tube with two nozzles as you correctly pointed out the pressure would rise higher than ambient and take ...

Eric, The little pressure jet is no longer available, :( ...., they may be neat to play around with but the pressure jet concept is inherently flawed as a source of propulsion. Eric I think there's somebody in Canada who doesn't agree  Cheers, Fedde

Re: Pulse jet supported CDE?

A pitty is that in gas volumes measured, you need 5 times more O2 than propane for the right mixture. 2 C3H8 + 10 O2 = 6 CO2 + 8 H2O That bottle of N2O/O2 will implode! :( :( :( Note that if you would somehow succeed to use air instaid, you would again need 5 times more (air contains 20% O2), creati...

Re: Spring Cleaning

Eric,

What do you mean by "type contraption"?

Coming back on the spring cleaning, I understood that the PrJ on the foto is not finetuned as it should be (and therefore ended up in the spring cleaning?).
That's fine with me, even if it might spend to much fuel. Is it for sale? Price?

Pulse jet supported CDE?

Mm, looks to simple to be true. Take your favorit thermojet. Build two pressurejet coils on or inside it (remodel the CC for inside mounting). One coil will be used to produce the supersonic propane flow (flow? ) and is fed, together with the other coil, directly into the beginning of the sma...
