Re: PREDATOR - valveless PDE build blog

yes, I know the Tesla valve, but I don't make use of in on PDE construction. My PDE is quite simple: intermitting self-breathing by supersonic propane-injection (jet-pump principle = air suction by propane-jet). No auto-ignition. Ignition spark is triggered at end of propane injection. See the sketc...

Re: PREDATOR - valveless PDE build blog

I am very covered by my job, so I can't do an estimation, when we will hear the first BANG- BANGs . But I will speed-up Shchelkin spiral helps speed-up DDT by causing turbulences, so detonation tube can be shortened. Normally DDT minimum lenth of propane/air mix is (cant remember exactly) ca 1.8 ......

2Dflow 002 terminates with errors - sniff ! ( I am running wine windows emulator under Linux). Tomorrow I will have access to a XP computer. Hopefully...... wine: Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x01510898 at address 0x4027f2 (thread 0009), starting debugger... Unhandled exception: page faul...

PREDATOR - valveless PDE build blog

Some months ago I started creating a valveless PDE , fueled by stoichiometric propane/air mixture. The already manufactured pieces are lying around and waiting for completion. Now I hope to speed up my efforts. what has been done until now? - applied PDE function principle: propane / air injector tu...

Re: modular design: big Escopeta made of chimney pipe segments

yes, i will use remote control or a long, long wire. Maybe it would be interesting for forum members to post a build blog of this PDE (some electronics are still missing; i.e. ignition drivers and solenoid valve controls)

Re: modular design: big Escopeta made of chimney pipe segments

The Chapman-Jouguet pressure of stoiciometric propane-air mixture is only about 18 bars. Its not so much for my 2.5mm high alloy steel tube (the thin shiny one laying on the grass in my pictures). My design is valveless : for that reason pressure peaks should not reach full 18 bars.

metiz,

you are right, I didn't test this "PDE" until now, but

Re: modular design: big Escopeta made of chimney pipe segments

Mark,

the linear pulsejet/straight pipe wasn't tested yet (it is a PDE pulse detonation engine). But I have a straight PJ design that is working fine (valveless "Schmidt-Rohr"). I will post it in some days.

modular design: big Escopeta made of chimney pipe segments

A cheap way to make valveless pulsejets Various valveless pulsejets can be assembled and re-assembled by using oven- or stainless chimney pipes , fitted together with clamp-supports (clamp-belts). No additional welding is necessary. But take care of leak-tightness. Gaps must be sealed with high-tem...

Re: 2D PJ Pressure analizer

Robinson and Steve, it is a good idea to enhance the values dimension from 255 to higher values in the color map. What do you think about using some kind of logarithms? Say, you take color values from -128 to +128 , that represent 2^-128 to 2^+128 or 2^-12.8 to 2^+12.8 ? Coanda effect works? Fine ! ...

Re: 2D PJ Pressure analizer

Hi Suns, it's a good idea publishing your code as open source. The best and bigges open-souce-hosting website i know is : http://sourceforge.net/ There are more CFD tools , but not as easy to use than yours! Here my question to your color-images: did you add color output already, or colored it with ...

Hi all,

we also have this great Hubert 90er pulse jet. We measured 90 N thrust (~ 18 lbs) on test stand ! Very good stuff !

Hi Robinson, thank you again for your great sim-tool and your answers to me (zono) and Rossco. Seems you have already two new fans (or followers) ! I am so happy, that you started developing this tool, so I would be glad, trying to support you in some questions to improve your tool. Programming in C...
